I know im speaking out of turn since I am not a member, but this is what I have observed from history and present day. From my perspective it seems like the masons are where they are because of a somewhat thiestic standpoint. I think this was thier fuel for enlarging that realm of possibilities and assertation of said knowledge. Sorta like knowing all possibilities so that a common link might be discovered. As I mentioned though im no mason.

Very astute assessment, Sammy. This is accurate, as far as what I've seen and read. A belief in a Central Consciousness Governing the Universe (my verbage) is what I've gathered from the viewpoints of the early speculative and operative masons. Atheism places limits on searches through placing an iron curtain between possibilities of this awareness. Not that Religion has not in the past, yet Atheism in many instances purports to *know*. Masonry is different that Religion or Atheism in that respect. Masonry only claims a *search* and a *journey* that can lead to knowledge. Dogmatic Atheism and Dogmatic Religion places a barrier to seeking knowledge with the bang of an iron gate.

Sounds like you might find some value in Masonry, and might prove of some value to a lodge. I don't think you'd go wrong by simply going and asking about it. Ask as much as you like and be certain if you decide to join. If you ultimately decide it isn't for you, that is fine. Remember, to thine own self be true. You might get a free cup of coffee out of it at least. ;D

I dont doubt id find value in the least, as far as offering value... thats debatable HAHA. It just seems like I should be doing something more I just havnt been able to figure out what. As I said though I have been leaning in this direction for a long time, and more so as of late. It requires a physical/social step to begin a path of any kind, whats been holding me back is that I would say that I have found it on this site and many others. so it doesnt seem fully pertinent to my situation, if I would even have the time or afford the gas. Then again those are excuses and you have to start somewhere. Sometimes I just wish God would be allitle more obvious because I dont have a clue HAHA.

As is said, Sammy, it's not for everyone. If the internet fulfills a need for you, I say stick with it. I love both the internet and the face-to-face, hand-to-hand Freemasonry offers. For me, I have to say the internet feels like a bigger waste of time, yet I likely do not utilize it correctly. ;D I'm pretty much a misfit in the social world-i.e. I don't often enjoy bars, clubs, restaurants, etc. Freemasonry offers a different type of interaction, and requires of its members a certain level of input for them to find true benefit. Perhaps in the future Freemasonry will feel a good fit, and perhaps even a nearer future than you think. On the other hand, you may never feel an adequate appeal to you. Either hand is fine. Be true and honest to yourself. And, get me a rockin' motorbike like the one in your avatar,

HAHA it is perty kicken. Might pick one up for myself! Im deffinately going with BigWheels style though HAHA. I have been looking for something hands-on and quite possibly I have underestimated the potential in personal interaction with masonry. I should probably get that out of the way before considering anything HAHA.

Whatever you decide, good luck in all your honest endeavors. Even if it's just to get a free cup of coffee.
