Up at the crack of dawn, have checked whether I have everything I need about 3 times now ... yes, I'm getting nervous ;D
It hit yesterday evening when I held my finished outfit in my hands - after my friend and I spent the day in a marathon effort to finish it. Suddenly it was real - this is it; nothing to keep my mind occupied with now but the singlemost important day in my life since my weddingday ...
Today I will be made a Mason - 8 months to the very day since I first met with my Lodge and knew for sure that this was for me. Once I've got my marbles back together again I'll let you all know how it went!

Cora , good luck and I look foward to greeting you as a fellow Freemason after tonight. I will raise my glass to you at 9.00pm when we traditionally greet "Absent Brethren". I assume that I should address you as Sister after you are Initiated? Again, God be with you! (I will be in Spirit), a great pity I am not permitted be there in person!

I've seen letters addressed to "Bro. Insert female name" on the notice board, so the official line may be "Brother" - but I'm happy with Sister*G* It is - but man-made rules cannot govern the nature of Spirit, so you'll be more than welcome in Spirit (think it's gonna get crowded *G*) Cora

Cora B
I hope you enjoy your day, I will be thinking of you today, smiling along with others at the time of your initiation, and raising a glass to another new member of the Worlwide organisation that is Freemasonry.
Just think Cora after tonight you will be observing the World through the eyes of a Freemason.

Congratulations Cora, I trust you had a wonderful night. If you happen to visit Christchurch N.Z. look us up, my wife & I both belong to Christchurch Lodge No 6, Eastern Order and you would be most welcome to visit. (03 328 8016).
"Todays' the day" was also very special for my wife Jan, as she went into the "Chair of K.S" last night, and we had 3 visiting male Craft attend, 2 from the Scottish rite, 1 from the English.
May your light ever shine to the benefit of humankind, Cora.
W.H.G.W., Hubert

CONGRATULATIONS! Cora. As one Freemason to another I (metaphorically via this cybermedium) extend my Hand to you in Fraternal Greeting. Perhaps one day, no doubt socially rather than working in the Temple together, we may exchange this electronic handshake for a physical one?
Now please clarify, do I address you as "Sister Cora" or "Brother Cora"?

Well what can I say ... one of you told me at some point that the whole experience would 'blow my socks off' (which *obviously* I wasn't wearing, but hey, I get the point*LOL*) and man, did it!
I cannot get over how icily calm I was throughout - I was fully expecting to be a bag of nerves, but nothing, not a twitch, just excited anticipation. First few steps were a bit wobbly, but then I just surrendered - I had the JD as a guide and the SD flanking me on the left; there was no way anything could happen to me, so I relaxed, sat back, and enjoyed the show:-)
I am so glad I didn't read up on any of it beforehand - it was a truly magnificent and totally overwhelming experience ... and it's really only just beginning to sink in.
This is a good time to say thanks to those of you who passed your well-wishes to my RWM; she passed them to me shortly after I'd seen the Light - it was a first for my Lodge to receive such well-wishes by email, so a memorable event for all of us! Thank you so much for your well-wishes, and presence in Spirit:-)
I'm going to stop babbling now - I'm beginning to lose coherence again*LOL* I do hope my facilities will be restored to me before tomorrow 08:30!
HGW,
Cora

I would like that:-) The official line is "Bro.", but informally we do address female members as "Sr." - I'm comfortable with either. Stick to what feels most natural to you! HGW, Cora

Cora
Congratulations.
I imagine that you are still buzzing inside. Relax and let the light shine my internet friend.
A couple of nosey questions (I won't mind if you can't answer):
1. Did you get initiated in the first floor Lodge near B's Office? If so having sat in it with B and having unexpectingly felt the residual energy I can imagine that it could have been a powerful experience for you.
2. I understand that you now have a year or so of silence, does that extend to the Internet?

" I understand that you now have a year or so of silence, does that extend to the Internet? " Stewart
I sincerely hope not! I value Cora's input . Frankly that is one Co-Masonic idea I would NOT like!

Hi Stewart, 1. Did you get initiated in the first floor Lodge near B's Office? If so having sat in it with B and having unexpectingly felt the residual energy I can imagine that it could have been a powerful experience for you. Yep - the Grand Temple. The Candidate's room is right next to the his office, so you can imagine the exciting wander I had all blindfolded staggering towards the Temple*G* The year of silence really only extends to EA's remaining silent unless invited to speak in Lodge - and obviously I am Oath and Honour bound to protect the secrets of the Craft. The Oath is very specific about any manner in which the secrets might possibly be improperly conveyed, so yes - I'll probably be falling into the habit of abbreviating certain phrases (once I've got my still buzzing head around them, that is!). Taylorsman- the year of silence only applies within the Lodge - It really doesn't mean much, just that you will not be asked any questions, or given any work to do whilst you are an EA,
