Hi everyone,
I’d just like to make known that my wife and I have recently petitioned a Lodge within LDH (Le Droit Humain) for membership and are currently awaiting news of the outcome.
Originally I was going to hold back making this announcement, at least until we had confirmation of the ballot, but as you will all undoubtedly appreciate such excitement can’t be suppressed for too long, the anticipation naturally proving impossible to contain!
Well, it was after much thought and careful consideration Co-Masonry was opted for instead of “regular,” Malecraft Masonry because among other things it afforded both of us the chance to start our Masonic journey together; the learning of rituals and being able to discus amongst ourselves any knowledge acquired in Lodge would no doubt prove invaluable at times.
Anyway, last week we were invited to a festive board get-together and met some extraordinarily wonderful and amazing people, people who treated us more like long lost family members rather than enquiring visitors. Their easygoing and peaceful manner immediately put us at ease and it was a genuine pleasure for both of us to have spent time in their company.
Our heartfelt thanks go out to everyone who assisted in getting us to this stage, especially Cora & Steve who have been incredibly generous with their time and support behind the scenes.
I will publish the results of our petitions as they are received.

Pleasure's entirely ours, Leo -- it's good to know you appear to have found your masonic home. St Pat's is a fantastic crew and is home to some of the biggest hearts in the Federation -- I have no doubt you guys will fit right in.
We have something in common in the choices we made -- when I first began searching in earnest, I had the choice of feminine or co-masonry, and the choice was easy -- I had no desire to join anything that would per default rule out my husband's participation.
He's still pondering... ;D

Joining a 'malecraft' lodge wouldn't be an option for your wife, would it? Or does it mean you're still not a Mason?

But all things being equal this will soon be rectified. Thanks Cora for your remarks, as gracious as ever. I hope someday your fellow will be interested enough to want to join as well. It must be difficult wanting to share so much with him but of course respecting your obligations means you can't.

They are simply the most wonderful people imaginable and really made us feel as one with them. When we left later that day we just couldn't stop praising their company. We actually felt energised being around them, if that makes sense.

I hope someday your fellow will be interested enough to want to join as well. It must be difficult wanting to share so much with him but of course respecting your obligations means you can't. It is difficult at times, more so from his perspective than mine, I should imagine. When we first petitioned we talked a lot about it, but neither of us could possibly have gathered at the time how completely and utterly right it would be for me. I knew from the very first moments of my Initiation that it was, but even I could not have foreseen the flight I've taken since. The difficulty is in balancing family life with the deep desire to serve my Order. Given half a chance I'd be in lodge every weekend; plenty of lodges to visit. And to us administrative types even Summer Recess is nowt but an opportunity to catch up on all the things we didn't get round to doing during the year ..! So you see, my challenge is to say "no" to myself when my overriding instinct is to pack up my gear and go to HQ, and spend the day at home with my hubby, who has my first vows, instead. I have a feeling some people out here will be most appreciative of that situation! ;D

Yes, I imagine balance is key in all things and in this instance especially in cases similar to your own: I'm sure yours is not a unique situation by any stretch. I suppose your husband is receiving some benefit although passively. What I mean is he is fortunate to have someone as his soul mate who is also (one would hope more in-tune with life than perhaps someone not associated with FM.

I am not yet an initiated Mason. But all things being equal this will soon be rectified. Ah, all is now clear. Good luck with your petition! Did you have to go far to find a Co-masonic lodge?

Leo
This is wonderful news - and long overdue
My only slight tinge of regret is that even if I were able to get over there I would be unable to sit in lodge with you but that is purely selfish of me - I wish you both all the very best and a favourable ballot as soon as possible

If all continues to progress, has anyone mentioned when that moment might be There was mention of possibly this November, providing the ballot is taken in October and successful. But of course there are no guarantees of dates at this stage so January is always a possibility, too. Are eligible to attend? If so I would love to see you there.
