Assuming all goes well: the ballot due on Saturday 13th of October is successful, and I'm subsequently initiated the following month, how then should I refer to or address myself?
Is it as a Freemason, a Co-Freemason or simply as a Co-Mason?
I see Steve says in his signature, "Simply a Co-Mason." I like this as it comes across as straight and to the point, no airs and graces, etc. But I am curious as what other ways of addressing one self or other Co-Masons there are.

Just a Mason is fine. I never liked the term Co-Mason as that makes it sound as if it is something other than Masonry. Just my opinion though

Co-Masons are Freemasons. Co-Masonry is just a type of Freemasonry. When in doubt, you can just recall you are Bro. Patrick. Always And you're going to be balloted upon the same day Bro. Cora is raised? Sweet!!

Yes, Karen, the same day as Cora. It's interesting that we are simply awaiting news of the ballot but are probably just as anxious as she is about her day ! I'm wondering if we ever get to the stage where we're about to be raised how will we ever cope As for your reply to the question, yes I appreciate fully that it is all Freemasonry it just that I read different descriptive terms and just need some clarification. Bro. Patrick has a nice ring to it, all right Just a Mason is fine. I never liked the term Co-Mason as that makes it sound as if it is something other than Masonry. Just my opinion though Brandt Good point. At the end of the day it is Masonry, pure and simple. Though, unfortunately there are still some who fail to appreciate the significance. Anyway, I will certainly keep everyone posted as to the out come of the ballot

Hi Leo,
Any of those three will do just fine. Personally I only ever use the "co-" bit if my intention is to clarify I am not a member of a feminine order. Somehow I don't think you'll come across that particular choice! ;D
Me, I just call myself a mason. Nice 'n' simple.
You guys still counting days? Man, I'm every bit as excited for you as I am about my own raising. And you trust me: the moment you tell me the good news, I'm online to book my flights, 'cos I'm not missing your Initiation.
10 days and counting ..!

Thanks Cora for that. We are both looking forward to you and hopefully Steve being there for the big day. And yes, the excitement levels are way, way up! May I just make a correction to the time left. I was clearly confused by all the excitement leading up to the ballot when I said the other day there was but 13 days left, I must have been thinking it was the first Saturday of the month or something, but in actual fact it is the second Saturday, which means we have an additional 7 day to wait!!! My fault entirely and I apologise for any confusion. So, if my calculations are indeed correct this time it means we have 17 days left and counting

's Okay -- I'm so stupendously busy I hardly notice it, these days. ;D Lucky you! But when you live the life of the idle rich: whose accumulated wealth is unfortunately rapidly declining; and have much time on you hands, time itself seems to pass excruciatingly slow

Just a Mason is fine. I never liked the term Co-Mason as that makes it sound as if it is something other than Masonry. Just my opinion though Brandt I agree Brandt, a Mason is well,,,, a Mason ;D No need for a prefix like Diet Coke.

Well I consider myself to be a "Free and Accepted Mason". Within that description I am a Member of Le Driot Humain which of course is a Co-Masonic Organisation.
I am off to the Consecration of another Lodge later today so may not be posting again till later.

> I am off to the Consecration of another Lodge later today so may not be posting again till later. Have a good one Steve. Nice to know the Federation continues to grow to meet demand. I look forward to eventually witnessing such a special event at some point down the road myself. It must be a wonderful thing to experience. Just a Mason is fine. Just got back. A very enjoyable day. The Scottish Lodge now up and running using Scots Ritual and Temple Layout rather than English.

Welcome back, Steve. Glad to hear it was an enjoyable occasion.
Is the Scots Ritual much different than, for example, Lauderdale?

There are similarities as with most Masonic Rituals but yes, there are some big differences. All in all I prefer Lauderdale.
