I must say the Lauderdale Working sounds amazing, and I hope to attend a lodge in The British Federation next year - my visits home never seem to coincide, but I'll try to sort that out soon! Well, the number of lodges in our Federation has increased by 3 last year, so your chances of catching a meeting are looking up. Drop me a line when you know roundabout what period you'll be here and I'll see what's on. Either way, sounds like we must catch up, lodge or no! :-) Have you ever been to Hexagon House? If not, let me know when you're here, and I'll give you the "Grand Tour":-)

CoraB You sound as if you were right around the corner from Hexagon House, but when I checked the map for Hampshire, your home, it seems as if there is more than 60 miles between the two points, taking about 1 hour and 15 minutes to commute. When do you find time to review and answer msgs on this site? You say that LDH British Fed uses 5 Blue Lodge rituals. Would you enumerate them, pls. When I visited BS (before the split) I saw the Irish and what then was called Brit working, which I assume is now called the Lauderdale (what the origin of that name?) It's all very confusing. W h.g.w.

Dear Bro:. Stepnwolf, You sound as if you were right around the corner from Hexagon House, but when I checked the map for Hampshire, your home, it seems as if there is more than 60 miles between the two points, taking about 1 hour and 15 minutes to commute. When do you find time to review and answer msgs on this site? It takes me just short of 2 hours door-to-door to get to HH, but contrary to common rumours I do not keep a sleeping bag there... As to the when and how of finding time ... dunno; I just do. I've been described as having frightening amounts of energy; might have something to do with that. ;D We currently use Lauderdale, Verulam, The Irish Working, The Scottish Working and the Continental or French Working. At one point we also worked Emulation, but I believe the lodge working that ritual has long gone into abeyance. You might like to read this page on our website: Craft Rituals. I'm not altogether certain why it is called Lauderdale! h.g.w., Cora

www.answers.com/topic/earl-of-lauderdaleI don't know if the Maitland family Earls of Lauderdale were Freemasons but the current Earl of Lauderdale was heavily involved with the Prayer Book Society which wished to maintain the Book of Common Prayer, which is written in language similar to that of many Masonic Rituals against the crap "Dick and Dora" modern liturgies such as the dreadful Alternative Service Book

Is that the British version of "Dick and Jane?" "This is Spot." "See Spot run."
