You lady masons must forgive my ignorance as I have lived quite a sheltered "regular" masonic life. I am forbidden to sit down in a lodge of lady masons, or make one a mason...
When I was going thru my degrees I was stripped half naked and instruments were poked at my breasts... sometimes my breasts took turns being bare even? This is a childish question, but how are you girls made? I picture breasts hanging out; but thats just me.

Down mostly, at our age ;D Welcome sniffles, from one of the old girls. In answer to your question we manage to follow the instructions for dressing in a discreet manner. Maat

Sniffles a fair question and one often asked. In our Comasonic Lodge we are all initiated both Men and Women, In a White Gown maybe like a surgeons gown, with tabs that bare or cover various bits according to the degree being formed. As far as Naughty Nipples appearing - It just doesn't happen, Not even Janette Jackson could manage it. When a portion of breast is required for ritual purposes I would remind you, there is a lot of Breast before you get to the rude bits - Look at any summer dress. We do not require an neophyte to prove gender , but like malecraft lodge's ritual relating to the breast is very important. Might add that a suitable gown makes a much more presentable candidate than when a Man in shirt and trousers gets adjusted for ceremony - Might add also many a man has sufficent fat on his chest to be mistaken for a women - needing quite a large Cup size

Thank you for honestly answering my question brother. I was just so used to seeing bare chested half naked men parading around (in the lodge, not Gay Pride day).

Maat You are funny sister Maat. But I am a "Free" Mason... Free from the nagging of women every time I am at the lodge. They're every where now... at work, in colleges, the military... now their trying to get the white house even... the lodge is the last sanctuary of true Freedom... alas a lay...

And this is why you are in Male-Only Masonry and ever shall be. Men who don't view women as nags/interlopers/invaders (no more than other human beings) can find shelter elsewhere as well. And that's OK, too. Welcome to you

Think for a moment and ask yourself what has our "Mainstream Freemasonry" become when we would rather make the qualifying age 18 years... be willing to mutilate our rituals and order to gain more members... and mass raise herds of men in a day... make herds of idiot masons who will never experience the fullness of freemasonry, let a lone know its mysteries anymore... to save ourself from dying out...
rather than make a woman a mason? ;D ;D ;D Post of the Week! You are funny sister Maat. But I am a "Free" Mason... Free from the nagging of women every time I am at the lodge.
Free from the nagging of women ...
That is interesting what do you do to provoke constant nagging - maybe if you work on your ashlar a bit more your problems will go away.

No nudity in our lodges, friends and Brn:. We have no need for it. On the exoteric level, we have no need to prove a candidate is a man -- we accept both on equal footing. On the esoteric level, only a small area on skin need be exposed. No more than a decent V-neck, really.
Antonius, as a Wiccan initiate I understand where you're coming from, but we have no need for such literal laying down of the persona -- it is brought about in a much subtler manner than in the Pagan rites.

Tamrin, and everyone else for the warm welcome. I was joking in my second post; I wasn't sure if the ladies would get it as I assume it is a touchy issue with them; but I mean no harm. The only Freemasonry I consider irregular is a godless breed like the Grand Orient of France...

The only Freemasonry I consider irregular is a godless breed like the Grand Orient of France... Please, please tell me you are joking again. I left it unfinished. Its to hard to explain, but I will. A little sarcasm if you know your Masonry: One Grand Lodge takes out a Landmark and its irregular... One Grand lodge take out a landmark and its regular still... all this regular and irregular stuff is BS; its a business of monopolizing Freemasonry; how can you monopolize brotherhood? We mainstream Freemasons can throw out the landmark of secrecy, parade in streets in costumes, put up advertisements and call them PR, and tell people we're not a secret society, but a society of secrets and still be regular; but if the french takes out a landmark they are irregular? I never liked the UGLY (UGLE). There will come a time in "Freemasondom" when the distinction between regular and irregularity is no more... we're witnessing it now as regular freemasonry convulses in its aged death bed... still refusing to change.

Beside; its impractical in real life. If I were ever in need of help in the real world, and a friendly hand gives me the grip and offers me much needed help, I highly doubt I will bombard him or her with a pile of questions to determine if he r she hails from a recognized lodge.
