In M&D, Pike, when speaknig of Jachin/Boaz, says:
"These columns were imitations, by Khurum, the Tyrian artist, of the great columns consecrated to the Winds and Fire, at the entrance to the famous Temple of Malkarth, in the city of Tyre"
Now. I'm getting the idea that to raise the confusion level a little further, Pike is actually just veling his reference to Hiram of Tyre, by calling him Khurum of Tyre. First is am i wrong about THAT. Second is, is this a universal connection or equality....or is this an invention all of pike's own to call him Khurum??

Khurum is pretty much Pike's idiolectal name for Hiram.
What gets me is, how does he know all this? Or rather, does he know we know it's all bulls***?

Well, I mean that there is only one textual source for Hiram, whether that's Hiram Abiff or Hiram King of Tyre. That source is the Septuagint, in which the name Hiram is written Heh Yod Resh Mem, meaning "noble" in Hebrew.
So how does he arrive at the spelling Khurum? Unless there's a textual reference he's found somewhere which mentions a guy called Khurum who used to do some job which, with both eyes shut and a following wind, he could kid himself was the same as that which Hiram did. Or maybe he just liked that way of spelling it. If he was kind of pretending to be talking about someone else, not hiram, then the question has to be asked: What purpose could he possibly have had in half-hiding who he was talking about?
That might have passed for scholarship in the era that came up with Atlantis and Lemuria, but it's what is known nowadays as codswallop.

My suspicion is that Hiram was a descendent of one of the gods - the gods being the source of all the technologies. For example see the detailed instructions for building the ark and the ark of the covenant.
How does Pike know these things - perhaps he conversed with the ancient gods. They have long lifespans (immortals) and have only been absent on their holidays. They are still monitoring and conversing.
Try it for yourself. Follow the detailed instructions of the EA TB. Does your version have people standing on the 3 pillars? They are the beings to converse with in the first instance.
Best wishes

Whenn you think that the pillars that were put up at crossroads were called "HeRMs, and that HeRMes Trismagistus is the impulse power behind all esoteric Orders, and that HeRMes is placed in the Sephirah Hod on the Tree of Life (whose "magickal weapon" is the APRON), this explanation makes a certain amount of sense.
However I WILL point out that the first Hebrew word begins with the letter CHETH (with a numerical value of 8) and NOT with a HEH (with a numerical value of 5). This is a crucial distinction in Hebrew because it makes the Gematria of "ChRM" 248.
FYI, the number 248 is the same of that as the name "Uriel"(Archangel of Earth) and of Ratziel (The Angel of the "Book of Secrets") AND of the word "Gematria" itself, These are all concepts that have profound significance for Freemasons and Rosicrucians, and is an example of how Qabalah can serve to unravel Freemasonic 'Mysteries" and point one towards fruitful directions in one's esoteric studies!

During the 3rd, we're told that the first words uttered upon finding **** will be utilized. But during the subsequent lecture, we're told that these same exact words were the last uttered by ****.
Which is it? Or is it both? If the latter, how could that be so? That can't be mere coincidence.

Choochoo808 Spiritual development requires one to develop both sides of the psyche. The Masculine side is intellectual and concerned with precision and justice. The Feminine side is emotional and concerned with nurturing and giving. The sides must be developed one at a time. Mixing and matching of the paths creates either insanity or death. It does not matter which order you work on the sides.
The beginning point of the masculine side is the Apprentice. His first step is to kill ego or the flesh. The work leads to becoming a Master Mason. One who knows the tools and uses them in life. IF the student wishes to continue their education and search for the Grail or develop the feminine side of the psyche then he is married to the divine. The final attainment is the Virgin.
The beginning point of the feminine side is the Virgin. Her first spiritual step is The Wedding. The work leads to the ability to create or innovate. IF the student wishes to continue their education and search for the Holy Spear or develop the masculine side of the psyche then she is given a purpose or apprenticed. The final attainment is the Master Mason.
So, the path you are on determines the location or station of development. The Master Mason and Virgin can be either the Alpha or the Omega.
Imagine an infinity. The path begins at the center, then moves around one loop to return to the center. Then the next part of the journey begins at the center and loops around the other side. Both the Virgin and the Master Mason reside in the center.

Thank you for your reply. These things fascinate me, but at the risk of sounding unappreciative and/or acerbic, I don't understand how it relates. When the searchers discovered the remains of ****, they uttered a very distinct phrase. These words were, lo and behold, also his verbatim last words. With so much emphasis placed on precise phraseology in our catechisms, I find it hard to believe that this duplication could be mere coincidence. What it tells this fledgling is that one/some/all of the searchers were first-hand eyewitnesses to the slaying and were parroting back his last words at the grave. But why would they do this? Very poor analogy, but let's say there's a convenience store robbery caught on tape. The victim's last words are, "Oh, dear. It's Thursday and raining. I should have worn my polka dotted shoes!" The assailants stuff him into a trunk and speed away. Hours later, some police detectives find the body in a dumpster, and immediately exclaim, "Oh, dear. It's Thursday and raining. I should have worn my polka dotted shoes!" I'd find it peculiar if it were an episode of "Law and Order". That it's present in this most fulfilling work, however, keeps me up at night.

The infinity is a simple picture of how the right and left paths are connected. What is the beginning for one is the ending for the other.
There is no right or wrong path, but there is a right and a left path.
Just tuck this away in your brain with all the other information. One day it will make sense.
Believe it or not, just by continuing to question you are making progress.
Seek and you shall find. Knock and the door will be opened to you.
