Symbol, You asked so here is an exercise - I am a Co-mason and I can only assume there are similar things in your lodge, if not the symbols are still of importance Symbol next time you are in lodge make a note of the different number of steps that the RWM, the SW, and the JW are above the pavement. (Some of those steps will be symbolic ie molding in the furniture.) - having discovered the numbers start asking why

Indeed you are correct. More steps/mouldings in the SW furniture than that of the JW. There must be 'proper' reasons for this, i can only suppose that they signify the levels at which the officer has gained in his understanding (in theory) maybe the steps signify that, that office is higher from the floor. But im guessing really.......... i was going to ask someone but forgot once the food and wine started flowing..... and very nice too.

Symbol, You should also notice that since the three main pedestals are at varying heights to one another, their respective lights(candles in CoMasonry) are at similarly different heights. When lit at the opening one should follow the sequence of illumination and discover that a triangle has been formed along the path of one light to the other. This is thus tilted from tip of flame to tip, implying that true balance is required to function at the spiritual level, AND that ongoing knowledge increases as a spiral, laying experience on experience to further understanding.

then you dont have to tell me but could you tell where i might look for an answer? Symbol \, I am not playing with you , Establish the Number of steps then start chatting with your local Brn about the signifcance of the Numbers, look around your Masonic world and see just how often those numbers appear.
