Hello,
I'm a Master Mason who lives in the US and have just returned from a overseas tour of duty. (second time;first one in '90-'91)I'm taking some time off before returning to work so I have some time to post. I've been lurking at your site and actually this is the first time I've been a member of any on-line forum (generally too busy)I'm 36, college educated, married to a great Lady, no children (yet!).
I really love my involvement with the Craft and I'm comfortable with the "regular" male aspect; I feel it gives me an opportunity as a male to have peaceful constructive interaction with other like minded men.I find Lodge both stimulating and relaxing. However I respect all individuals who seek light and I'm fairly open minded.
In my Lodge a generational torch is being passed (as I suspect everywhere else) and as part of the younger generation I hope to "step up" . I hope this forum will aid me. Also since most of the posters seem to be from the UK and Continental Europe it will give me a broader perspective. Thanks.

Greetings liberty,
Welcome to the forum.
Though many of the posters are UK based, you will find a good cross section of freemasonry represented. We also have a lot of input from a number of very knowledgeable non masons.
You have just returned from a 'second tour of duty' - can I presume you are in the forces?

Hi Mick,
Thanks for the hello. Yeah, it was the interesting input and knowledgeable posts that attracted me to site. I was with the Marines for 4 years after high school then went into a part time Guard Unit, a few years later ,and got called up. However it looks as though I'm done (wife; very happy!) and can move onto the next phase in life/interests,

Thank you Munkholt- I've read your posts with interest; like you I was always interested in masonry and I kept "running into it" in my readings of history/philosophy espeacilly in regards to Bro. Ben Franklin who is my favorite American Founding Father.
