So what's the meet up time then?
Who is bringing a camera?

I'd be delighted to see her again. The Pillars does however tend to be a too crowded pub with lots of Brethren meeting up usually before Meetings across the road so it is fair to warn you that it might be a wee bit difficult for wheechair access. Anyway, do show up as I'm sure there are many who have read what you post but would like to meet Daniel in the Lion's den. No wheel chair access? Not politically correct. We should make a complain.

Andrew, I imagine that the Management would tell you that it IS wheelchair accessible but knowing how crowded that pub becomes at the best of times, especially Saturday early afternoon, I would say it would be impractical and uncomfortable for any wheelchair user to say the least. If an able bodied person such as myself does not like crowded pubs then I don't think it would appeal to someone less ambulant.
The problem for old premises in such an area is that they are very circumscribed by Planning and Conservation are Laws as to what structural alterations they can make yet they also fall into the ambit of the Disability Discrimination Laws. Yet another example of the lack of "joined up thinking" which prevades the present situation in Britain.
In any event if Stewart and his wife DO attend I'm sure we can arrange something to accomodate.
BTW Andrew you seem to be doing quite well without a "Bloody Craft Lodge" but if you like there is really nice one that does Taylor's at Clerkenwell that I'd be happy to propose you for.

Regading proposition it is my honour that I could be accepted to your Lodge Bro Taylorsman however, I have long promised TheGnostic (at least 6 months now). In fact tomorrow I am having my interview there. However, if something goes wrong I promise that yours will be my primary consideration.
As far as political correctness goes I understand and you are absolutely right. Maybe then we should step outside (weather permitting) and offer a pint to Stewart.
So what is the time again? Who is the secretary keeping the minutes?

Given that some of us will be going to Meridian, why not say 1pm onwards?

All,
I think the meet up time will be about 2.15pm as Meridian Lodge should be finished by then. I feel we should meet in the Pillars and then move on to larger pub to accomadate Stewarts wife. I will bring the camera.....

I will bring the camera..... Excellent! I'm sorry I can't be there, but I think the initiative is great, and I'm looking forward to seeing some pictures from the day.

I'm sure it will Bod. I am really looking forward to a day in the big city, and have even decided not to wear my cloth cap or bring the whippets.

Due to unforseen circumstances I will not be able to attend the meet-up. Shame this as I would have loved the chance to have the craic with you chaps before you headed off to "do your thing" Best of luck to every one and, as Lee said, it would be great to see some photos.

Brethren All,
I will be taking my camera to the meet up this afternoon and post the "rogues gallery" for all to see.
I am sure we will be continuing our on list discussions over a couple of pints which should be interesting....

I'm afraid I will have to disappoint as I'm not feeling at my best today, I have a bit of a migraine headache coming on so I'll go and lie down I feel as I'm not up to going into London on the train and travelling on the tube to Holborn.
Hope it all goes well for those who do attend and Lee can hold on to his £100 as I don't even own a Provincial or UGLE Tie, far less will I be wearing one.
S&F to all

Steve Sorry to hear you're not too well at present and hope you feel better by now. I know what it's like to have a bad migraine - a bloody nuiscance, if there ever was one.

Thanks Leo.I used to suffer from Migraine quite regularly but since I started to wear Reactolite Specs they haven't occurred so much. Yesterday however I had been to the Doctor (good news not bad) but this is still a stressful event so by the time I got back I could feel the twinges and the medication I am on does have headaches as a side effect. Since it was quite severe at "High Twelve" I didn't fancy a trip into London on the train then the tube with a throbbing head and the visual disturbances migraine causes so I went to bed and lay down for a few hours and I'm glad to say it passed off.
I hope those who did attend enjoyed themselves and hopefully I might meet up again sometime.

I think that my reputation must have gone before me as the Pillars was nearly empty (two-four dozen at most) during the couple of hours that I was there.
Anyway Sarah and I enjoyed the beer and the company.
It is always nice to meet with people that you chat with on forums.

Glad to see you're better Steve. Nothing worse than being laid up. In 1989 I was laid up for months with a bad back and that was no fun, I can tell you. Stewart, glad to see you and your good wife were able to make the "meet-up" but you never mentioned who you met there. Come on, man! We need all the gossip
