I don't think Cora and I will be getting the car until the10th or 11th. Truly, I won't be in any shape to drive.
Meanwhile, for the meet up day, Bro. Bill has very generously offered to assist with his vehicle, which would, at the very least, give us a place to store luggage.
Bro. Mike, I am very sorry I won't see you on the 9th. We'll be in Suborton on the 20th and 21 (going to see the British Museum on the 21st). Perhaps you'd like to get together then?

I had the very great pleasure of meeting up with Bros Karen, Cora, Bill and Jules today, it was especially good to meet Karen because it was the first time I have met her and although she was jet lagged and kkknackered! it was great! (I hope you two got home to Portsmouth OK?)
It was also great to meet up with Bill, Cora and Jules again.
I hope the rest of your trip is successful and I look forward to reading all about it!

Just a very short note to say we're all safe 'n' sound here at my place, with much thanks to Bill for the adventurous journey from Gatwick to the Pillars and from there to Waterloo again...! ;D
Honestly -- we're *glad* we didn't get the GPS with our rental car.
Off to bed now as another early start tomorrow -- London Lunchtimers, anyone? -- but not after adding my wholehearted confirmation to Chris's observation: it really was very cool indeed to meet y'all.
S&F,
Cora

Hi everyone!!
Yuppers, I'm here in my jammies and having a wonderful time. I've met so many BB (from online and off), been to the Freemasons Hall twice, I'm liking London's Best and, today, I took a picture of a giant chicken.
;D
Bro. Wayne, I'm still going to be wandering the streets of London the afternoon of the 21st. Wanna wander with me? I'm pondering the British museum and Westminsters.

Latest update:
Bro:. Karen has just had her first tasting of driving on the "wrong" side of the road and has got us safely back home from where we shall depart to York very shortly.
She's very brave, and is doing very well!
By sheer human error the car got upgraded from a 3-door Peugeot 106 to a 5-door VW Passat, so we are travelling in style. ;D I had clearly ordered a car with automatic transmission, but somehow the booking centre put that down as "convertible" -- in this bloody weather? Are you out of your heads?!
The guy at the local car hire place was brilliant -- talk about customer service. He let us have the only automatic he had and said he'd worry about the next customer later. Then he didn't charge us for the substantial update from an ittybitty Peugeot 106 to a very comfy VW Passat, so yeah: congratulations on their customer service are most definitely in place.
Heading off North soon -- catch up later!

That is good news, getting such an upgrade does not happen too often so maybe Bro. Karen really is blessed, after all Safe driving to you all, you can expect some fairly harsh weather coming your way so take it handy.

A visit to the Knights Templar round church is a must, and the oldest existing building from the great fire of London is also worth a visit as well. It is opposite the Justice Court on Fleet Street (number 17?) from here there is a nice walk through the Inns of Court to the Temple Church.

A tip for visitors to London. DON'T under any circumstances try to get into the bar at Mark Mason's Hall with jeans on.

Yesterday I met "yer actual Karen" . It was a most interesting experience and she did not look in the slightest how I had envisaged her.
