I realise that there are several things that can be argued to be lost in Freemasonry, but conceptually speaking....
Pick the most appropriate answer, for they may not be mutually exclusive.

I voted for "when the individual is ready".

I agree. After all this is individual internal work.
Though sadly that appears to be a rare occurance nowadays.
Which is why it will take the fraternities to shape up to the challenges that face them, collectively as well as individually, in our rapidly changing world, before what is lost will be found by more than a few.
Otherwise this beautiful and essential aspect of Freemasonry will appear as no more than mumbo jumbo to far too many.

I voted for "when the individual is ready." I beleive that Freemasonry is about changing and 'growing' as an individual - at some point maybe, will I find that which was lost.
What concerns me is that some find it all hogwash mumbo jumbo!

Now, what with Christmas coming up, and so many Brethren being keen golfers, you would think Ronco would start doing Teleshopping ads for the patented Mason's Lost Word Finder. No matter where you lost it, just whistle and this handy little gizmo will find it for you.
But don't take our word for it, listen to these testimonials...
Mr Ben Almanah* from Succoth-by-Zeredatha near Guildford writes: "I tried using a substitute word, but it just wasn't good enough. Thank heaven for the Mason's Lost Word Finder - finally I can hold up my head proudly at any Installation Board"

Ruff, again you had me in stitches! On the more serious aspects I feel we only find that which is Lost when we die. BTW my prediction for the big game today? Celtic 3, Rangers 1 , Alex McLeish P45 POSTSCRIPTI was wrong in that the Gers didn't even score a consolation goal. If Mc Leish had any decency he would resign forthwith.

Stewart, it was only a joke. Steve, It's gone beyond a joke Personally, I think Eck's done a difficult job with considerable stoicism; and what's more we all knew he was being handed a poisoned chalice, and so did he - but he accepted it anyway, which I think is a measure of his virtue in all this. Besides, if you ask me, I reckon they ought to start firing players; then you'd see them start finding what was lost - the SPL title!

Tonight will be his demise I feel. Now as it is rumoured that Murray has already told him who is to succeed him I have to ask, will it be George Burley?
Apologies to the more serious posters here. If Ruff and I (one a TIM and the other a BEAR) want to continue this banter we will do it on the Talking Chaff section.

What isn't serious about this? It was serious enough that, during my Chapter meeting on Wednesday, workmen from Babylon kept coming in to report on the score.
What is lost? Perspective, perhaps.
