I really should have included CLIPSAS as the third broad affiliatory body (after UGLE-amity, and United Grand Lodges of Europe (UGLsE) a better appelation for the other main group).

GOI is in amity with neither UGLE nor other feminine or co-masonic orders. It is in amity with all other regular grand lodges (including yours, JMD!)

Yes, Giovanni, amazing this 'amity' thing, isn't it!
My GL is in amity with both UGLE and GOI, and so can legitimately not only visit each, but have both yourself and a UGLE member visiting my lodge as brothers - and yet you two would not be able to visit each other (not officially at any rate).

I prefer to say "to recognize", rather than "to be in amity".
Amity is a great thing. Sometimes I guess whether amor, love, means a-mors, without death, i. e. something that wins death...

Gio, thats right, Recognition. I think we are in amity here in this fora, even if our GLs do not recognize each other...
