Dear all,
I would like to know how: How many lodges did you visit for public evenings, public speeches, etc. before having been initiated in your mother lodge.
I myself attended public evenings of two lodges in my region.

Only one which my friend and sponsor belonged to and I subsequently joined. It can only really be on a personal recommendation for the first Lodge. Different if you want to join a second. You can go and see them in action.

None. Freemasonry was then a true secret society.

So, the ones who have not attended public speeches or white tables, you have been invited and asked - and then initiated?

None, we don't do this sort of thing. Feels like recruting which as we all know is not freemasonry.

Ok.
So you just can ask people you know from business, school, friends....
But if there is someone out there you do not know personally and would like to join, how does this work then?

None, as such.
I was present at a friends birthday party which was held within one of the function halls of my Lodge building -but that's all.
