Ah you have spoiled it for me now....
He talks about that sort of stuff a couple of books back. Aparently (from memory) he notes the patent numbers et all that have been filed for this sort of technology.
I have just read Part 1, and it does give an interesting analysis of the whys and hows UGLE Freemasonry came to be, and why it is so different from GLOS/French Masonry. I will say that it is helping me understand a few things.
Rui once said on forums that the UGLE ritual is missing the essential elements in ritual to help its members grow that far. From how I have read this book so far, that is also what Laurence Gardner is saying.
I continue reading with Avid interest. It could be a long night.

Apparently, the big secret is the Ark of the Covenant: 'capable of drawing energy into storage from the atmosphere Well...guess what...this is not only possible...it is well known. It is in Tai Chi for example. At the personal level you don't need the Ark to do this, only time and will.

'solar cells' are well known, if you want more examples of 'drawing energy...from the atmosphere'
I still can't reduce gold to powder with mine, nor with this strange box of shittim wood I dug up from this mouldy old crypt. It does a bang-up job of recharging my iPod though (the solar cell, not the Ark - wrong polarity). I doubt whether your Tai Chi can do it either, but perhaps you ought to remove your gold jewellery before hand. Safety first.

>As for the "lost word" anyone who has taken any of the several side orders may believe that they have found it
MrMason
I assume the emphasis is on the word "believe"
Locally the Grand Chapter of RA has put out a brochure encouraging MM to join to discover the Lost Word.
Sounds a bit like false pretences to me.
But at least the triple grip is genuine.
Cheers

I stand to be corrected on this but I don't think that Tai Chi teaches how to reduce gold to powder. What it does teach is that it is posible to harness the energy net that surrounds, and is within us, and once harnessed to use that energy.
It is the same with karate, though less obvious, and as with other Martial Arts. And over here in the masonic world, the Hermetic societies should possess some with such abilities. Then there are the "starchildren", and some religions that are in touch with nature.
The Ark may amplify the energy, but you Jonathan can learn to harness it yourself.
I stumbled across it quite by accident. I have recounted this story before so apologies to those who have heard it. There have been a couple of dozen witnesses to what follows.
As you may know through negative events in life (eye and finger problems mainly) I had to cease my karate training for about a year, and I have just returned to it. Anyhow, let me quote something that I wrote to a 6th Dan about this:-
"When I started to train I had no idea the progress that I would make, weighing well in excess of twenty seven stone when I started, but my training has provided me with enormous benefits. In addition to the obvious health and fitness benefits, my training helped me come to “know myself” a bit better. In fact, I found my training to be a very spiritual experience which is exceedingly difficult to describe in words.
In the dojo, I would be extremely exhausted, and sometime around green/purple belt stage, something rather unexpected happened. For a few brief moments I was able to feel something that I had not felt before. I can only assume it to be Ki energy, though I am sure that chemists would explain it in terms of body chemicals. Anyway this was fleeting and no matter how hard I tried it I could not re-achieve it more than once every few months. But in time I was able to enjoy this in every training session. The secret, was relaxation. That key thing that my instructor kept telling me to do, relax, it really does make all of the difference. Anyway, relaxation was only part of the picture. With me, the warm up always exhausted me and as soon as the training proper started I soon found myself “in the zone” of Ki manipulation. I became able to stretch this zone for up to twenty minutes, and the only way that I can describe it is to say that it felt like I was at one with myself and with nature. And my Keii’s were always much stronger then. Once I was out of the zone however my training became much more difficult again."
Now you may explain this all in terms of body chemistry - fine. But here is the thing, which I say was witnessed by a couple of dozen people at various times. And is well known in Tai Chi.
To help me when I was completely exhausted (picture 21-25 stones after 1.5 hours of training) I found myself moving my arms in a certain way which somehow recharged my batteries so to speak and gave me the energy to continue, sometimes for a few moments sometimes for twenty minutes. It used to drive my instructior crazy as it is not karate but he let me do it, and in time I came to understand how it worked. Then later on holidayI took a Tai Chi lesson to see what it was like, and guess what....one of the first things that he taught...was this precise move that I had found all on my lonesomes. It works. And it is all about harnessing the energy that is around you and focusing it. Since then I have been helping others learn how to do this. And I have chatted to a few Dan grades who do understand that this is not only possible, but one has offered me advice on others moves. (I wish that I had paid more attention to him).
But it may be one of those things that you actually have to experience yourself to believe.
More generally we all harness the energy around us everyday, when we pick up on and are affected by the moods of others. It is not brainsurgery. It just takes a bit of seeing.

Thank you for your kind encouragement, Stewart! The key is that you & I both know that you can't transmute anything with ki or chi energy. I learnt that in both karate & jitsu dojos, but learned very much to appreciate in jitsu in particular that I simply wouldn't have to been able to achieve some of the more impressive results if I a. my own energy wasn't properly focussed and b. I hadn't focussed the 'aggressor's' energy back on themselves.
If I was such a sceptic, I wouldn't be here. But I am certain that you can't transmute gold into a white powder that resonates with the light energy of DNA. That's just silly. And that is the underlying problem with Gardner's books.

All that I know is that the more that I know, the less that I know.
If, three years ago, you told me that I by now would:-
1. Take a completely unfit 27.5 stone blob of body and turn it into a 3rd Kyu JKA student. 2. As a profane man (rejected by an UGLE lodge), be called Brother by a whole spectrum of Freemasons, including acting ranks, from around the world. 3. Come to realise that I can actually do some good in our world, make a difference. 4. Would be able to sprint faster than some children at 40 years and twenty odd stone. 5. Be able to juggle.
I would have said, dont be silly......
So I keep an open mind. To everything.

Jonathan,
As Stewart says if you cannot disprove a theory made, there is still 50% chance that it is true. Mathematics in practice.

Apparently LG has gone for an op cancelling all scheduled talks. I gues all this white powder didn't do him any good, or maybe he didn't use it (silly boy)?

Finished it. What an exciting read.
I can not comment on the powder gold stuff, except to say that I will make an effort to check the scientific journals quoted when I am next able, and I will do some more focused research in my Egyptology studies here. I also have a relative who is doing a Phd in the quantum field, I may seek his opinion in due course.
What I can say is that he is correct about the point within the circle, though he never goes all the way in his explanation. Which is a pity.
Andrew
Can you give me any more info about his health situation, I would like to contact him but will refrain from doing so if he is seriously ill.
