Bro. Theron, I suspect you may be being a bit too hard on yourself. Elsewhere on the Forum I wrote: Half of morality is to overcome evil in ourselves and others. Once we can keep our passions and prejudices within due bounds, we are called upon to wrestle "....against the rulers of the darkness of this world..." (Ephesians, 6:12). However, to be more against evil than for good has a tendency to evil... Thus, if some aspects of our lives primarily involve resisting evil, we need balance, ensuring that, in other aspects of our lives, we are actively working directly for good. In my jurisdiction, the newly raised M.M, is charged that, " To improve the morals and correct the manners of men in society must be your constant care." In which case, a degree of negativity may at times be a necessary and virtuous acknowledgment of the truth of a situation. Remember, even Jesus is said to have overturned the tables of the money changers (Matt. 21:12/15, Mark 11:15/17, Luke 19:45/46 and John 2:14/16). However, I suggest we need to be cautious to ensure our positivity exceeds any negativity, lest we develop a tendency toward the latter.
