Nothing to do with the other half of the Globe unless I am much mistaken. Sorry, my mistake. I meant antipodean (might be my antediluvian brain packing it in).

I did wonder. BTW I just love your inverted Map. I once saw a series of Maps of the World (Mercator's Projection) centred on different Capitals. e.g. Washington, Moscow, Peking, etc. Gives a totally different perspective than the usual London Centred Map.

BTW I just love your inverted Map. "Inverted" or "reverted"? I too am intrigued by maps, especially ones going beyond merely geographical features and political borders, to point out regional differences in populations, commodities, etc., etc. I am appalled by reports that Only 89 percent of the Americans surveyed could find their own country on the map (and I understand this is also common elsewhere). We read: In August, Miss South Carolina became a worldwide celebrity when footage of her answering a pageant question swept the internet.
When asked 'why can’t so many Americans identify the United States on a map?', she responded with nonsensical ramblings about Iraq, South Africa and the bizarre observation that "some people in our nation don't have maps".

That's why you Aussies are on the BOTTOM of the map. ;D NO it points away from South On a slightly more serious note, the needle is polarized: The direction in which it is said to point depends on the pole to which one assigns the arrow head or pointer. We read:- The north pole of the magnet is the pole which (when the magnet is freely suspended) points towards the magnetic north pole (in northern Canada). Since opposite poles (north and south) attract while like poles (north and north, or south and south) repel, the Earth's present geographic north is thus actually its magnetic south.

Bro Phil. what is the origin of that map and how did they determine "Happiness"? The findings were explicitly subjective and I suspect one influence may have been cultural tendencies for reserve or to overstate, serving to dampen or exaggerate claims of both happiness and unhappiness.

Brethren,
I have made a grievous error of judgment and sincerely apologize to Bro. Theron Dunn for having sided against him in this recent exchange. In the absence of reasons to the contrary, both parties were fully entitled to my presumption of being of good character. This I failed to observe and, while believing myself to have been acting objectively, I was wrong.
Both parties appeared to be engaged in personal attacks. I have since found out that, while some remarks from both parties were not to my liking, Bro. Theron had in fact erred on the side of moderation in relation to certain startling facts.
In choosing to side with the party I took to be the underdog, I gave him leeway for being inexperienced. However, I failed to afford Bro. Dunn the benefit of his more intimate knowledge of the circumstances and, in doing so, denied him the impartiality to which he was entitled from me. Reflecting on the facts of which I am now aware, any criticism should more properly have been directed at the other party.
I am very sorry for the offence I have caused.

Those two posts above demonstrate my point perfectly on how Brothers, the real side of them, should be seen by the masses.
I congratulate both. There is much we can all learn from this.

Masons should be able to disagree, and disagree a lot. Then just have a beer together. Disagreements are not the same as hating or demeaning.
Thank you Brethren for showing that in your actions.

"Intimate knowledge of circumstances"? "Startling facts?" Or backchannel defamation and internet gossip used to blackball another? Consider that it may be difficult to distinguish the two all the way from Australia, especially from people never personally met. The adage, "don't believe everything you hear and only half of what you read" is a good one. D

I now agree that I am so far removed from the situation that I was presumptuous to have supported either side in the dispute (albeit, I had focused on the manner in which the facts of the matter were disputed rather than on the facts themselves). A simple Google search revealed much reputable information which corroborated Bro. Theron's case. Could I now be wrong? Sure. Could there be a case of mistaken identity? Perhaps. Even so, with what I have been able to access and from my present perspective, I am now not only inclined to favour Bro. Theron's case (which he appears to have understated) but am mortified at recognising the unmasonic lack of regard I had afforded his informed opinion (be it right or wrong). The adage, "don't believe everything you hear and only half of what you read" is a good one. "Intelligence is believing only half of what you hear: Wisdom is knowing which half." Lacking sufficient acquaintance with the parties and these matters, I intend not to engage further in this dispute unless directly addressed, as in this instance.
