Interesting to note that Freemasonry Today, the official Magazine for UGLE reports on Co Masonry - Co-Masons Le Droit Humain Instal New Grand Master At a ceremony in Paris recently, attended by approximately 400 Freemasons from around the world, Danièle Juette was installed as the new Grand Master of International Co-Freemasonry Le Droit Humain by her predecessor, Njördur Njardvik from Iceland. Also present at the ceremony were representatives from, amongst others, the Grand Orient de France, the Grande Loge de France and the Grande Loge Féminine de France. Danièle Juette, who was initiated in a lodge in Rennes in northern France in 1974, now heads the only truly international Grand Lodge. Grand Masters are elected to serve for a period of five years, and their responsibility extends to an Order covering 48 countries, including Britain. The Order is predominantly francophone, having been created in France at the turn of the twentieth century. French Freemasonry follows very closely the principles of the Republic – Liberty, Equality and Fraternity, and in this Le Droit Humain is no different from French national masonic jurisdictions. The new Grand Master takes these principles seriously. ‘Women have the same duties in society as men – they therefore have the same rights. Equality is more than a word,’ she says. ‘When Anderson wrote his Constitutions, women were nothing more than chattels. Today, that is different. ‘I think it is important that Freemasonry raises its profile in the world, and that includes all the many different streams in Freemasonry.’ Le Droit Humain believes that the internet should play an ever-increasing role in this. The Order is not recognised by the United Grand Lodge of England. www.freemasonrytoday.com/41/p06.php

Thanks Bill.
The fact UGLE's official mag has published this news is testament in itself to advances constantly being made.

Yes she was installed last year so the news is a bit late. However I am glad that FMT published it.

The V. Ills Sr. Danièle was installed on 20 May 2007, in the presence of close to 500 Brn:. from our own Order, and also representatives from GLFdF, GOdF and some others I can't quite recall, considering it's been more than a year.
It was a very impressive ceremony, and I for one have never been more proud to rise with our Grand Commander to salute our new GM. ;D
h.g.w.,

I just find it is pity to speak about our V ill Bro Danièle like a Great Master. Owever, FMT isn't wrong : the Great Master office is something new in the last edition of our International Constitution (or I haven't seen this office mentionned in the previous one). Because of the specificities of our order, I would find better that she would be called T:.P:.S:.G:.C:. (sorry, I don't know the english "abreviation"). Someting more to do like the GODF....... ...and it isn't the only change I don't like very much in this new edition

I never said it was a News Item, the point to me was quite clear but seems to have passed some by.
I have on many occasion been told that UGLE does not like Co Masonry and does not recognise Co Masonry or Female Freemasonry. I have argued time and again that there is a difference between recognition and acceptance.
UGLE have included an exhibition on Female Freemasonry at Great Queen Street this year and I have pointed out that the official Magazine reports on Co Masonry. When is somewhat irrelevant to the point I am making.
Now if your official Magazine is reporting on Women in Freemasonry and your headquarters is hosting an exhibition on Female Freemasonry, it seems to me that is follows that it the inclusion of Women in Freemasonry is accepted as Freemasonry.
Or am I the only one who sees it like this ?

Well, it is certainly a step in the right direction. We have even loaned some Annie Bessant's Regalia to UGLE for their exhibition.

Thanks Bill. The fact UGLE's official mag has published this news is testament in itself to advances constantly being made. Ah haaaaa! Leo the light from one of the Three lesser luminaries has cast a shadow. If one wants to get into the Castle, there are two ways to go. Battering RAM, or you can just knock and ask, can we come in. First will get you covered in hot tar, the other may just work. Knock on the big door and say we are Freemasonry, we are no better and no worse than any other form of Freemasonry. Knock on the door and say our Freemasonry is superior, and then it will be 'dont let the big door hit you on the but on the way out'.

If one wants to get into the Castle, there are two ways to go. Battering RAM, or you can just knock and ask, can we come in. Uh, Bro. Bill, we're already in the "Castle". Have been a long time. And we've looked on in bewilderment as Brethren in *that* wing have re-enforced the fortifications, changed the locks and did other stuff to make sure we couldn't get in. They claimed we wanted to force our way in and they stood firm to keep us out, all the while not seeing that the Castle was never their's alone and that we'd just walked in. Then they said we weren't really in, that we didn't exist at all, though they seldom came to our part of the Castle to see for themselves. Now, according to you, these same guys are saying, "Well, all you have to do is knock." Very bewildering indeed. But you're cute when you do it

Bro. Karen if I remember correctly you did not have to use the battering ram to collect your award from Lord Northampton.
Things are just not as you portray them.
Nobody was building anything to keep you out that time was there. Come on, I thought we were getting over this 'my Castles better than your castle?'
Indeed very bewildering.
I am saying nothing new. I have said it all beore, if no one wants to listen then that is just fine.

Uh, Bro. Bill . . . *I* didn't say I used a battering ram to get in. You did. But we didn't. Heck, I'm pretty sure I pointed out that, in fact, we walked in. (Karen rereads her last post) Yup, I did say that. But you say I said otherwise. Am I missing something here? Is there some reason you want to believe *I* said otherwise? That straw man thing? Otherwise . . . nope, I'm not getting it

MTCF Jérôme, In English our GM's official title is Most Puissant Sovereign Grand Commander, but over here we tend to adopt the English terminology of Grand Master. As I've said before: British co-masonry (well, under LDH anyway) is a unique hybrid of francophone principles instilled in anglo-saxon form -- this is an example of just that! ....I would find better that she would be called T:.P:.S:.G:.C:. Très fraternellement, Cora

OK Karen, if you wish to be precise let us do just that.
Lets us say I live in my house and you live in yours. It makes no difference how long - its your house ? but if you wished to visit mine, I would expect you to ask not just barge in.
So if your happy in your house why would it be a bewilderment ? My entire point is the above does not happen. Last year I tested this out on some 60 UGLE Members, I said to them 'you are all aware of Female and Co Masonry' deafly silence - I found only 2 out of 60 plus that even knew Co Masonry existed.
Now which is it, you do want to visit or your just not bothered ?
There are UGLE Masons that do not want anything to do with Co Masonry , Yes. Do they wish you harm , No. They are however entitled to their opinion.
So you scenario that there is a conspiracy of defence at UGLE is just not borne out by the facts.
a> by the facts above and b> by my testimony of events I have witnessed
Who said , when , how ? As I have pointed out your own experience says otherwise.
No. I am suggesting if you wish to be accepted by the rest of the Fraternal Societies, you would be better advised to ask, not demand. If however you carry the above, "they are all out to get us" philosphy, don't waste your time it will never happen. If However there is an acceptance we are all equal but different, it may just work out. Now if that bewilders you I am sorry, it makes sense to me. But it is my opinion, I like you am entitled to have one.
Symbolism in words seems to cause concern but I will try again:
I auditioned for Britain Got Talent last year, I was in a 'boy band', Simon Cowel said I was too fat, plus too old, What does he know, Idiot. As long as the other 7 year olds want to keep trying we will keep going, for our dream, We dont care that we were rejected, we hate Simon, we know we are the best and we will keep coming back until they see how good we are.
