"Don't gloat so soon, the election has yet to be held, and I suspect Obama will not be elected. You were a Hillary man not long ago, I seem to remember."
Indeed I would rather have had Hilary with Obama as VP Candidate on the ticket, but the Democrats have chosen Obama and Biden.
As a Brit and therefore a bystander I would rather have Obama than Mc Cain any day. I shudder to think of him in the White House!
"I just thought I'd point out, again, that PHA Obediences also accept white Candidates."
Yes I knew that Bro Karen and I salute them for it!

We opened the question of mutual recognition with the MWPHGLoT, and were rebuffed. Did they give reasons? If so, what?

We opened the question of mutual recognition with the MWPHGLoT, and were rebuffed. Did they give reasons? If so, what? I don't know, other than they wern't interested. They may fear being subsumed by the larger F&AM eventually. Black men here take great cultural pride in PHA, which is why they generally do not join F&AM Lodges.

"Our Inner Master, the most intimate companion ever given to us to know, as well as the highest Initiate to whom we may speak. This Master is also the custodian of God’s Wisdom within humans and is accountable to God for human wisdom. Everything that troubles us troubles this Master likewise, and all that makes us happy makes this Master happy too, for this Master knows that our distress is the consequence of our errors and that our happiness comes from the Master’s truth. There are no questions that the Master cannot answer, but there are many answers about which we must bring questions. Our Inner Master knows all about ourpast for, like the rose that unfolds to greet the light of day, this Master was the first to bless the coming of our soul. Day and night, the Master tries by every possible means to be seen or heard, but day and night we veil our eyes and plug our ears. In fact, not a single day passes that the Master has not done everything possible to attract our attention."(Christian Bernard, F.R.C.)

I just thought I'd point out, again, that PHA Obediences also accept white Candidates. Yes, they certainly do. I think sometimes an issue is being made to simply stir up controversy. I agree. In the 1600's and 1700's even some Quakers, the founders of the abolition movement, owned slaves. It is a non-issue today. Re the GL in the US whose constitution says that Freemasonry is for Caucasians, I believe it is Alabama and that language dates back to the 1870's. There is also a law in Massachusetts from the 1600's or 1700's that has not been repealed that says a citizen of Massachusetts must shoot a citizen of Rhode Island if they observe them crossing the border into Massachusetts. As best I can recall, a Massachusetts citizen has not shot a Rhode Islander for crossing into Massachusetts for several years. My point of course is that there is ancient language that just does not apply today and would never even think of being done today, [e.g. Ancient Penalties (!)] so the fact that owning slaves at one time is no reflection of the Craft today, and Alabama is at the most guilty of not updating their documents. That language, in and of itself, does not necessarily mean that the Grand Lodge of Alabama is racist or that Masons in Alabama are racist.
