If you look up Alexander Cannon on Wikipedia though, you will find that all this boils down to is that "According to recent research ... King Edward VIII consulted Cannon, and received hypnotic treatment from him for a drink problem." Not a big deal, one would think.
But the fact that the monarch was subjecting himself to hypnotic treatment understandably alarmed some at the time... although perhaps they should have been equally alarmed by his alleged drink problem!! ;D
In any event, after the news aroused my curiosity I dug up this intriguingly-titled book by Dr. Cannon. Although it's not all I expected it to be, it is quite enjoyable and it reads like a novel (although it probably wasn't meant to be one).
omni: In my Lodge the Secretary is a hugh bully along with control issues. if anyone even asks a question he files masonic charges against them. He controls members mostly because they are afraid of him.
