That has a certain familiarity to it!
I also find the mention of the Alchemists of great interest. Many such as myself feel that "Changing Base Metal into Gold" was symbolical not an actual metallurgical process instead meaning to change humanity's base and mundane nature to a higher spiritual one by the study of Mystical and Esoteric knowledge.
