It is extremely plausible and possible that Abraham's dream to sacrifice his son, is a sacrifice to a different altar.... the altar of Atlas, or Zeus etc.
Zacharia Sitchin's work on the Sumerian tablets explains of Anunnakis super beings or gods.
I believe these are semi-gods. They are not that One Cosmic Father, G-d, YHWH.
I believe the anunnakis and other pantheistic dieties are super beings whom G-d has "assigned" the role of "minister" or "duke" to upkeep particular domains. This is includes Zeus, Hecate, Aphrodite, Baal, Kaabic Idols (Allah, Laat, Uza), Kali, Durga Ma, Thor, Mercury, Mars, Ishtar, Innana, Cebyle, Posiedon, and the entire mythological pantheon as well as the titans of the dark side.
Anunnakis were deputed to engineer man's evolution genetically, socially and technologically in varying proportions. This was their "assignment".
There are different level of assignements. Consequently there different levels of "ministers" and "dukes". It is a system of checks and balance. "Executive" posts are awarded to only some individuals: I call them "Prophets" from the Abrahamic bloodline.
This select bloodline brought is spiritual leaders to the people of Mesopotamian regions called the "cradle of civilization". It is in this very geographia that sumerian tablets were discovered. They tell a story about the orgins of this very geographia and its people, and the Anunnaki. The sumerian tablets mention very clearly about "Atars" of light or "Beacons of light" or "Beings of Light". These are those Prophets.

They are not that One Cosmic Father, G-d, YHWH. I am not sure whether the god who needed a tent and food while the Israelites travelled in the desert is really the One Cosmic Father. Perhaps the followers of that god found it useful to exaggerate his and therefore their importance. This also then allowed the qabalistic experiences of the cosmos to be brought within conventional theology. My experience of the GAOTU is that "he" is not the same as the jealous god of the Israelites. I believe the anunnakis and other pantheistic dieties are super beings whom G-d has "assigned" the role of "minister" or "duke" to upkeep particular domains. I am sure that those gods encouraged such beliefs. I have been a bit concerned by the morality of many of those gods - rape, incest, patricide, "deicide", genocide, devastation of the landscape.... If I were the GAOTU I would have withdrawn their warrant.

Paulh: You said, "Perhaps the followers of that god found it useful to exaggerate his and therefore their importance. This also then allowed the qabalistic experiences of the cosmos to be brought within conventional theology."
I believe this is true to a substantial extent. They must have found it useful indeed. I wonder as to the validity of that usefulness.
You said, "I have been a bit concerned by the morality of many of those gods - rape, incest, patricide, "deicide", genocide, devastation of the landscape.... If I were the GAOTU I would have withdrawn their warrant."
I believe the "gods" were making spiritual errors of judgement. They were emotional charged beings. Only the One Cosmic Father is free from error.
I also believe the some of the "gods" who are "ministers" assigned to the dark side are literally and deliberately "licensed" to rape, incest, pillage etc. As long as they maintain the cosmic balance.

I would rather he think for himself than follow someone on the internet. I find it curious you would wish to have followers. "If you find the Buddha on the road, kill him."

Gosh
I was attempting to point out that gods (and humans) like followers who forgive (or commit) all crimes on the basis of some theological or political beliefs.

Gosh I was attempting to point out that gods (and humans) like followers who forgive (or commit) all crimes on the basis of some theological or political beliefs. The only god I am interested is Ishtar/Isis. I suppose I am a good follower. Actually, I have no problems with any crimes she might have committed, not that I know of any. Incidentally, there are a myriad of Ishtar/Isis equivalents in the African Pantheon. one is Mami Wata, whom I researched yesterday. She is known by several names in Africa as well as South America. However, she is known to live in the ocean. I felt that she might be more of a version of lillith than Ishtar/Isis. One reason is that she is often depicted with a large thick heavy serpent who seems to be under her control. I have seen very similar paintings and depictions of Lillith. Also, Lillith has a connection to the sea because when she fled Adam, she fled to the sea and thats where the angels came to call her back to the G-d; So she has a specific tie to the sea and in the paintings she is depicted with lots of sea life about her. Mami Wata is always shown as an African woman with thick long braided hair. She has strong arms and a firm body. She is neither petite nor fat. This body structure fits in with both Ishtar and Lillith's depictions. Next reason for thinking she might be Lillith more, and Ishtar/Isis less, is that she is known for blackmailing men for sex. This did not feel like the Ishtar/ Isis that I know personally.

It was the day after X-mas, and I had bought myself a Vogue magazine. In it was a heart-rending article of a little Indian boy who was dying of AIDS, and who had been rejected by his entire family after his parents died of AIDS. Actually the article was about the AIDS crisis in India, but the story of the little boy affected me deeply. I went through my day in a constant troubled state, and at the first opportunity, immediately after supper, went to my temple to meditate, and call upon the Black Virgin. I sank into a semi-trance, and the image of little Dilli Babu came before me, and I felt a great upwelling of anger at the horrible injustice of a little boy left to die. I mentally shrieked "WHERE is the JUSTICE!!!", and as i did so, I felt myself lifted on a red tide of rage, higher than I had gone in quite some time. The psychic haze lifted, and I saw that I was hovering over the earth, looking down at it, as though at a map. I could quite clearly see the triangular peninsula of India, and as I watched, Dakshineswar Kali arose out of it, with Her mighty blade held high in Her left hand; She looked straight at me, and as I watched, She brought down Her blade with great force, somewhere in the vicinity of the ocean near Thailand. The shock was tremendous and Her anger palpable; I remember feeling hardly able to breathe, and I am not sure how I "made it back" to physical reality, but I KNOW I had "angelic help", otherwise my partner would have had a nasty shock finding me either dead or mad! It took me nearly half an hour before I felt able to even rise from my chair. The vision had been absolutely one of the most powerful I had ever experienced. However that was NOT the end of it; the next day I got online, and I read there how there had been a HUGE EARTHQUAKE (remember the Dec. 26 "tsunami" that killed over a hundred and fifty THOUSAND people?) that corresponded PRECISELY to the spot where I had seen the blade of Kali strike! Moreover, when I calculated the TIME it happened, it had happened RIGHT AT THE TIME I HAD BEEN IN MY TEMPLE HAVING THAT VISION.

Dear V I found your experience particularly moving and very thought provoking. I had to put space between reading and responding to your post. Aceh, in Indonesia, has been a place of extreme violence over many years. I remember one incidence which happened about a year before the tsunami hit, when some Catholic school girls were set upon and beheaded while they were on their way to school. That incident made me so mad I reached the stage I ceased thinking and just cried. This act was done because of religious intolerance (supposedly). In light of the story you shared you might be interested to see one of the outcomes of the tsunami... The 2004 tsunami helped trigger a peace agreement between the GAM and the Indonesian government. It drew a lot of international attention to the conflict, wiped out many supplies, and killed many personnel from both sides. Earlier efforts had failed, but for a number of reasons, including the tsunami, peace prevailed in 2005 after 29 years of war. Post-Suharto Indonesia and the liberal-democratic reform period, as well as changes in the Indonesian military, helped create an environment more favorable to peace talksen.wikipedia.org/wiki/AcehLove Maat I am left wondering about the connection made with the Goddess via the emotional body..

Well, it's nice to know that good came of it all!
The emotional connection is absolutely VITAL to success. Israel Regardie mentions it in his "The Art of True Healing". "Inflame thyself with prayer!" is a very accurate description! I forgot to mention that I also used the Invocation of the Bornless One to fire myself up:
I am She, the Bornless Spirit, having Sight in the feet, strong and the Immortal Fire! I am She, the Truth! I am She who hate that evil should be wrought in the world! I am She who lightningeth and thundereth! I am She, who is the Shower of Life upon Earth! I am She whose mouth ever flameth! I am She, the Begetter and Manifester unto the Light! I am She, the Grace of the World! The Heart Girt with a Serpent is my Name!
Being as women have a natural access to their emotional nature, they can employ this to great effect if they so desire.

I am He, from whom is the Shower of the Life of Earth; I am He, (who can bring forth all things unto the Light) I am He; (in peace of the world)

It is certainly possible that there are and is more that one god, I believe that there is only one supreme God and the others either fall in line or rebel against the supreme God.

I have a rather interesting and frightening story of the occult. It is a warning to everyone as well. About 2 years ago I joined Builders of the Adytum, and took the Entered Apprentice degree in Freemasonry. I loved B.O.T.A. at first until I received a rather ominous lesson from them. The lesson went on to claim that the devil did not exist, which would have been fine if the lesson did not later refer to the devil as "His Satanic Majesty". I just brushed it off and forgot about it, at least for as long as I could. Then strange things started happening. I had a rather vivid dream where I was abducted by an alien space craft and woke up the next day with a sense of dread. For some reason, I become obsessed with the idea that I was doomed to go to hell. During this period in my life, I could see these strange "people". There was something about their eyes, like they had no soul. I was also getting this strange "tests" which I thought were tests from the Lord. These tests eventually evolved into my being terrified of eating or drinking anything, because I thought that by eating or drinking I was becoming the anti-Christ. I was eventually committed to a mental hospital. During my month there, I went from a strong and well-built 135 lbs (who could probably do upwards of 60 push-ups) to 100 lbs and too weak to do a push-up. Before the hospital I had another strange thing happen to me. After I failed one of these "tests" I went to drive myself home from a friend's house. While I was driving north, the road suddenly became south-bound. North and south had switched! I was terrified. Let this be a warning to those considering joining Builders of the Adytum. As a side-note I've been considering re-joining the Craft. I just don't want to be deceived again and find out something frightening. All the Masons I met were very good and nice people though, so it seems to be alright by me.

To clear up any confusion I did take the Entered Apprentice degree in Freemasonry. By "I didn't end up going all the way through with it", I meant that I did not take either the Fellow Craft or Master Mason degrees. I have nothing against Freemasonry, I believe my bad experience was due to my involvement with B.O.T.A. That being said, I am not exaggerating what happened to me. And lol at Peter's comment, I was actually thinking of creating a short story based on my experience. If you want verification, you can pay for the B.O.T.A. lessons. The lesson that refers to the devil as "His Satanic Majesty" is, I believe, the lesson where it gives an explanation of the 15th Tarot key (obviously the card titled "The Devil"). I'm not trying to provoke anyone, I just wanted to share the story of my experience with the occult. That being said, after this whole ordeal I can't shake the feeling that God can never forgive me for being involved with the occult, although I thought I was on the "right-hand path".

I was just pointing out what seemed an obvious oversight.
You do not have to prove anything to me, honestly. Your feelings are 'your feelings'.
Thats what this forum has done in the past, we discuss and examine those things that others may not try to.
So don't be put off by what I say to you. I am just a custodian, you are frre to express your thoughts.
