He went yesterday

Yes I noticed the news at the GOUSA website is not very interesting of late. I was expecting some more activity but maybe they have learned the art of stealth.
My old mate Jeff was never good at stealth, more of a kick the door down and lets see what happens policy.
I am sure time will tell all those interested in why he resigned, of course may not be a sensational thing. I don't think any more should be made of this resignation than that of others, each individual had the right to stay or go as they please.

That’s the right way to look at it Bill. In time the reason may become clear as to why he resigned but if we are to jump to conclusions at this stage we’re bound to be wrong.

I am not sure what the problem is, I did a few minutes on the names this morning www.grandorientusa.org/.net and .us are available so the value of .org seems limited www.uglofa.org/.com maybe available on back order so I dont see how they can be offered together. The above sites seem to be in the care of "NETGEAR DG834GT " and password protected. I dont see that these are pemium domain names. www.gomasons.org/Seems to be registered in Jeffs name. It is active and working fine. But there are plenty of gomasons domains available if someone wants them. So it is a shame if that is the case, but I know from personal experience how Jeff can get under your skin, he is a nice Guy, but then so am I.

They seem to be on their third Grand Master in just a little over a year. This leads me to believe that the problems within this Order are more than skin deep.

You're not saying he left UGLE altogether, are you? Let me answer and say that I think it was meant to say he retired as ProGM. He has not left. I'm hoping he gets the top job and makes it operative again ;D

It would be a shame to see a man of his masonic stature, dedication and ability lost to the craft altogether.

These days there aren't many newspapers that aren't out for a sensationalist headline. While I was over there, I got the impression the press actually pays some attention to the Craft, though not always in a kind way. I hear that Brothers in certain professions, such as the police force, keep quite about their membership as it's viewed with some suspicion. Over here in the US, the press pays very little attention to Freemasonry. We don't make the news unless the Shrine circus is in town, there's a spaghetti supper or a lodge in New England shoots one of its Fellowcrafts

It seems human nature to be excited and drawn to the promise of change or improvement.
It also seems to inevitable to be disspointed by the actual results.

There is a time to be serious and time to laugh, not knowing which or when often brings inevitable disappointment.

There may be nothing left to say? I have a feeling that the experiment is over.

Oh I doubt that. I have seen Jeff written off a number of times.
He is a Jeff-in-the-box, he bounces back when you least expect him to.
I have some sympathy for some of his ideas, we could, all of us, do better than we do.
The question is as always which is the right way.

I notice that the GdSec. of GOUSA who is a member of this forum is unusually quiet and has not commented yet. Perhaps the external communication system has broken down now. He is quite active on my forum, which deals with politics. Brandt is the best of the lot, in my estimation. I will inform him that his presence is sought here if you wish. Be respectful, he is my friend.

It is pretty clear by now that the Grand Orient of United States is itself a failed venture. That is not to say that those involved may go on to other things. There are plenty to choose from. This is a real shame. I have contact with many from the Grand Orient of France and I know they where excited about the GOUSA. It is a shame that enthusiasm didn't equal success.

Be respectful, he is my friend. I am surprised he is not here still! It seems to me the 'lead players' in GOUSA have had a clash of egos. It was inevitable. A "clash of egos" would hardly make them unique. They seem to be a common theme. The GOUSA has also had it's first official schism. www.sandiegofreemason.blogspot.com
