These are my thoughts only and not the forum policy.
The Mods have for the most part let some have time to get a few things off their chest.
But it is becoming tiresome.
To those who have complained about the job the Mods have done, that is enough, either take the decisions made on the chin or just move on.
To those who want to make this forum a place of chipping and squabbling, that is enough.
To those who are just plain mischeivious, that is enough.
I think the time is coming where the Mods are just a bit fed up wiping this many backsides.
Sit on the naughty step for a while and ask what it is you want from this forum.
Maybe one solution is to just close it down. Because there comes to a time where it becomes just too much.
But I have been back here for just a couple of weeks and I am fed up with this squabbling already.
There may be some posters here some do not like, get over it. Hell I have members in my Lodge who I could cheerfully slap all day long, but I smile and keep the harmony of the Lodge going. Simply because the harmony of the Lodge is far more important than my feelings or my opinion.
For some reason here on this forum it would seem that being seen to look very smart is far more important than the harmony of the forum.
So I ask all to have a goof think about what they want to see here. For if you, the poster, can not excercise restraint, I will be asking for the freedom to delete posts without explanation and delete accounts without explanation.
I have to be honest and say clearly , I for one do not want to spend my day trying to figure out who is who and was what was said an insult, let us see some Masonic self regulation.

I have to endorse what Bro Bill has said. I have been on this Forum for some time now, joined at the beginiing, left then came back, have occasionally gone quiet and have now gone back on the Board of Moderators. Now I am all for people being able to express their opinions whatever their GL or how high or low their Rank.
Now what is becoming very tiresome is the tit for tat, yah-boo postings and denunciations that seem to proliferate and drown out other more interesting posts.
If posters want to dispute amongst themselves whether one has the right to declare himself The Grand and Supreme Pontiff of the Order of St Jude the Obscure and a holder of the 150th Degree of the Arcane Magyar Rite of St Stephen then this is better done by PM or e-mail etc, but not on here.

I'll try to avoid squabbling if I run across it. I really do not care what group someone belongs to or claims to belong. When people make claims that appear to me absurd I will question them on it. I I do not care for this stuff either, but when someone tries to insult my Brothers by stating; "There is a difference between those who do and those who need to be told what to do." It was the first reply to a very good post, and tainted what still became a great conversation in spite of the attempts to ruin the thread. I'm surprised it has been allowed, when the thread was stripped. Even a very good reply was stripped. I wonder if there is not a common thread and origin to these purported squabbles. I will not abide abuse of brothers if within my ability. Sorry, but that's my nature. I will stand up for my brothers. I am willing to have my account deleted and my posts removed if this is here considered wrong.

No one has said anything about making an argument against the substance of a post.
What we are talking about is the one upmanship, I know more than you know postings, which achieve nothing much other than annoying the hell out of the Mods who are probably the only people that read all the posts.
Or trying to degrade another poster.
If a poster is a twit leave him alone then we can all see he is a twit. There are some ineffable concepts, and if someone makes an attempt to describe them, give them a chance, I may think they are rubbish, but I want to give that person the chance to explain.
If you , the poster, think it is wrong then quite rightly explain why you think so, no problem with that.

I agree wholeheartedly. I have even argued for a poster I personally disagreed with to remain on a board. ;D I think if someone's an idiot, no one displays it better than the person themselves (including me, as I can be an idiot at times, and lots of other things). I suppose since few of my posts (I know of none offhand) have been deleted, I really shouldn't concern myself this way. I do have a tendency to have fun in a discussion.

I believe your behaviour over the recent posts has been an example of how to deal with views another poster totally disagree with. I wish more of our members would follow your example

The Grand and Supreme Pontiff of the Order of St Jude the Obscure and a holder of the 150th Degree of the Arcane Magyar Rite of St Stephen I like these. Me too. Maybe Steve can confer these on us. ;D

something that helps me deal with differences of opinions is reminding myself were all children on our parts of earth trying to find the best way to grow up.

Thank you, middlepillar. I hope to not cause consternation amongst the mods or cause more dust to be thrown in the air than is necessary. I admit, I was concerned that I was the partial inspiration for this thread, so I am glad to hear your words.
