This is a great board! I am MM and KT and live in Los Angeles. My home Lodge is Old West #813 located in Newhall, California. ***** I have read Crowley, understand Magick, OTO, the Kabbalah, and have done extensive esoteric work. I like the esoteric discussion at Masonic Forum of Light. I wrote a book entitled The Queen of Heaven. My website is here: jeffreyaugustine.com/. My book is a Multiverse cosmology that offers an alternative to the traditional models of Divine Creation and the Big Bang. My work offers a very unique approach that I call TechnoMysticism. This is congruent with the sensibility that Technology and Mysticism are related. This relationship is sometimes spoken of in terms of quantum nonlocality. I want to introduce my work to fellow Masons in this thread. I will start with symbols, for Masons and symbols are inseparable; such is the beauty and wisdom of the Craft. ***** I created fifty new symbols for the book. In the cover art I morphed the Masonic Pyramid to a new set of symbols. /////

How did you find your way from Scientology to Masonry, Brother. That's quite a journey.

While I did some Scientology courses and auditing in the 1980's, I am not a Scientologist. Rather, I have worked as a Scientology critic online helping to expose the human rights abuses of The Church of Scientology. My knowledge of both Scientology and Masonry allowed me to have a far greater understanding of OTO, Crowley, Jack Parsons and the Babylon Working than perhaps other researchers. This is something I can discuss on the OTO thread. The work I have done as a critic is unrelated to the cosmology I present in The Queen of Heaven. Nevertheless, I do have an exceptionally wide background in spirituality, metaphysics, and philosophy. My depth of experience and training informs my writing and symbology. I was drawn to Masonry by two very compelling dreams: www.jeffreyaugustine.com/Masonic.Dream.Calling.htm/////

Interesting background. Yes, Hubbard basically started Scientology as a scam. BTW, I am an admirer of Jack Parsons myself. He led a fascinating life (and was ripped off by Hubbard).

Just to be clear, I never said that Hubbard started Scientology as a scam. What I said is that I am critic of the human rights abuses of Scientology. I support the right of people to practice spirituality according to the dictates of their own conscience. I would no more oppose the practice of Scientology than I would the right to practice Masonry, Christianity, Islam or any other practice. However, when any practice becomes abusive and harms people it must be opposed in order to defend human rights. ***** It is interesting to see how L. Ron Hubbard used the Masonic degree system in the Scientology Bridge. He called his degrees grades: /////

GR, I want to stay on the topic of this thread so I will start a new thread about Scientology. The short answer is no: A Scientologist cannot be a Mason or engage in any other forms of spiritual practice or therapy. I will explain why in the other thread.
I would like to discuss Masonry, Gnosticism, and Cosmology in this thread.

That thread has been removed by me
I would also add that the image you have that purports to represent the 'structure of freemasonry' is wrong - there is no degree higher than that of Master Mason, this is a truth universally acknowledged in freemasonry across the world Also, the 'structure' depicted would only apply to freemasonry as practised in the US, if it was correct, which it isn't, it has zero relevance to freemasonry in England.
Adendum - some jurisdictions do follow the sequence from 1-33, and even higher, however, this doesn't change the comment on the image - it really only depicts US freemasonry

Every UGLE amity malecraft Grand Master I have known (many) have been members of the 'higher' degrees. Why would you delete a thread on Scientology if it was not abusive or threatening - are we not free (masons) who can make up our own minds about things? We actually have a Ron L Hubbard book in our Masonic library, just in case our Brn want to know what all the fuss is about. (We also have books on as many other belief systems as we can gather.) So far as I can see from library records not one person has bothered to read it so far. Knowledge sets one free. I believe it is prudent for us all to learn as much as we can about everything. Be prepared. (For the record I know nothing about Scientology, but figure where there is smoke there may be a fire. Just not interested enough investigate this particular belief system... too busy trying to figure out the secrets and mysteries of Nature and Science in Freemasonry - and how exciting is that!) (For the record also, on one forum I visited just once I came across a post made by one 'Freemason' who told another Freemason that if he believed 'that' (whatever it was I have forgotten) his soul would be damned for all eternity. My one post was HOW DARE YOU! ... then they banned me from the site. I wear it as a badge of honour. Point being... Scientology has not cornered the market ... )
