I think you will find that the true "apocalypse" will be when the internet/video games /mass communication/texting/e-mail/et hoc faeces omnes comes to an end, as it certainly will at some point. I would wager that the loss of the Internet will be the dividing line on the minds of the seething populace, i.e. "the Age of Internet-the "post-Internet Age"...if this generation lives long enough to see their old age, asides from explaining (or evading explaining) thir collection of tattoos and the rationale behind each one they will be talking about the good old days when you could talk to Australia in the blink of an eye!
That is, if there ARE any grandchildren around to listen to them (radiation exposure causes sterility and cancer, remember, and mass radioactive exposure will cause mass sterility and mass cancer) they will be listening and shaking their mutant heads in disbelief...

If you were to actually put some thought into the issue you would have your answer: in no other age prior to this has there been 70,000+ nuclear warheads lurking in wait, nor were there atomic power plants built right at the ocean's edge in earthquake zones, so that when they have a "meltdown", the contaminated water goes straight into the ocean, nor, in ages past was there any drilling for oil several miles below the sea so that if anything "goes wrong", zillions of gallons of toxic oil pours into the water. I could go on for some time, but I am sure you get the idea... Did Noahs flood destroy the world - Nope. Will the world be destroyed before the Creator wishes - Nope. Do the people who build the Nuclear Power Stations, Drill for oil, make bombs have any more or less of the Creator within them than, vajranagini, or I - Nope Does the Creator know what he/she/it is doing - Yes Do we have to worry - Nope Hey lets party tonight in case the world gets zapped tomorrow So if the Zoroastrians are correct we may as well have a good time and not worry about the doom and gloom lets all party like crazy just in case Gotchihr strikes tomorrow

Actually, the point is NOT to be scared of anything, but to embrace it, encompass the idea into your conception of self; after all death is inevitable; is this not the veriest teaching of the Rite of Rites: that of the Masonic "Third Degree"?
Plus , why should I be afraid; I myself have achieved "certainty, not faith, while in life", thus I have no reason to doubt the second half of the formula:"Upon death, peace unutterable, rest , ecstasy"..." Such are the words of the teaching of Binah/Nuit, upon the Tree of Life, mediated by the Planet Saturn...
Since one has to die anyway, why not make it the supreme moment of aspiration towards the Divine? But, there is practically nobody here who can profit from such teachings, after all. the "servants" are expected to be "few and secret"...

As in most circumstances it is only when faced with death or major injury that you will find how calm and collected you will be.
Rhetoric is easy, but when the man comes to give you that injection that means your off to the table of decision - life or death - then and only then will you know. Those of us who have been on the wheel of fortune know, those who have not can only speculate.
Fear is a human survival trait and should not be dismissed so easily.

But I do thank you for your reply; it has made a very great deal clear to me... ;D

vag, yes it is the foundation of the Third degree, but just as it is difficult to learn how to build a brick wall if you have never completed that task, the experience has to be lived.
Knowledge is a collection of facts, understanding is created living those facts.
It is impossible for those of us who have lived and toiled in the quarries to be accept instruction from someone who has not.
You must understand that this is a Masonic Forum and the majority who are here will have that basic foundation.

Actually, life itself is the 'quarry" and individual lives the "rough ashlars", as I am sure you well know. ..and so anyone who has actually lived life and given the better part of it over to the smoothing process required of a "finished ashlar" is certainly qualified to expound upon the topic, whether male or female...Socrates was never initiated into the Mysteries, but he lost his life as a result of his public expositions on the inner knowledge that the priesthood of the Mysteries considered 'their own" ...so it is quite possible for individuals who put in the work to have "understanding" of "Mysteries' which one has never been 'made privy' to.
And, think about it: where else can I go to talk about this stuff, except in forums like THIS one?

Of course, she is only here to save your worthless soul and to teach you Masonry. Nobody can save the soul of another; that is work that one must do for oneself... And no, I am not here to 'teach" Freemasonry as much as to EXPAND on it. I would think that someone like yourself, who claims to be on intimate terms with Sufis and Sufi would KNOW that the Sufis themselves say that "knowledge is available wherever you can acquire it, and not just in the places where it is expected to be found".

And, of course, Ms. Vaj here is one of the elect... >shrug< if I am, it is the result of the work I have put in over the years, and not because it was handed to me on a silver platter. It's like this: some people spend their leisure time watching TV/playing video games/ reading novels or-or-or any number of mundane activities...others give their leisure time over to meditation, inner work, and study of esoteric subjects. I am one of the LATTER.

Vaj - I an sure you and I walk a different path- Do I know anything about Eastern Esoteric's - I guess wandering around India, Nepal, and Bhutan has given has given me a few clues. Of Western Esoterics - a few too many big words for me My esoteric conclusions are quite simple - There is a creator who creates everything, the greatest teacher is the one that lies within. Even those who do the apparently nastiest things - contain the same creator as within me. There is no such thing as an accident - there is a reason for everything - Death has brings no fear - it is but another gateway to go through- Of the Third degree - we simply see the drama/ theater of natural law . In Freemasonry for me the key is the 5th stage in the fellow craft Degree. Vaj - I wish you well on your path and hope to bump into you for a yarn on the otherside of the gate

Well, I will concede that my writing style is in fact rather abrasive and confrontational; not the usual sort of thing one expects from the distaff side, I agree; conciliatory drivel is mostly their style! But what a dull world it would be if everyone did the same thing!
In any case, no one can accuse me of "pandering" or trying to make myself agreeable so that my (informed) opinions will also be thought agreeable! they must stand on their OWN merits and not rely on my status for their worth! I mentioned the Sufi school of the "Malamati" a while ago, but it doesn't seem to have been picked up on! Funny that!

I love the word "apocalypse" and the fact that the apocalypse is happening now - the roots of the word are greek and refer to disclosure - Look all around nothing can be hidden any more - perhaps even the Vietnam war was the beginning of the apocalypse when the realities of war was disclosed directly into people lounge via Television. The financial melt down when all was exposed, if a policeman hits somebody chances are somebody will have recorded it on their cellphone camera - who can ever doubt we are living in exciting times

I love the word "apocalypse" and the fact that the apocalypse is happening now - the roots of the word are greek and refer to disclosure - It actually translates as "rending of the veil".Look all around nothing can be hidden any more - perhaps even the Vietnam war was the beginning of the apocalypse when the realities of war was disclosed directly into people lounge via Television. Oh, I dunno; in many ways it's easier to MISLEAD people via images, using the principle of distraction! I can tell you that the whole business about Clinton and Monica was a 'media distraction" from the Enron fraud trials which were going on at the same time...it worked. The great majority of the American public had NO idea the trials were even being conducted; it all slipped quietly under the radar! The financial melt down when all was exposed, if a policeman hits somebody chances are somebody will have recorded it on their cellphone camera - Yes, and if some teenager is busy texting and falls in a fountain, we get to see THAT too! who can ever doubt we are living in exciting times Yes there's no denying that! I often marvel at how humanity has managed to bring things full-circle: crude oil was formed from the deposits of ancient plankton over the ages, and now, plastic bags and other impedimenta made from that selfsame crude oil are cluttering up that selfsame ocean and KILLING the plankton!.!

When I was a boy in myTown there was a man who walked up and down the high Street every day, with a large board back and front of him. He did this for many years. My daughter was in Times Square on the day of the most recent apocalypse; she commented on the fact that nowhere was anyone with so much as a sign of any kind.
