No, it wouldn't matter to those who follow after weak and unworthy authority, longstanding custom, the feeling of the ignorant crowd, and the hiding of their own ignorance while making a display of their apparent knowledge.

Allowing lodges to choose Masonic ritual is tantamount to chaos and anarchy. Not paying up to the central authority only means that lodges will go crazy and not toe the appropriate liberal line. People must be forced to be free and the definition of freedom must be provided to them by enlightened leaders.

Allowing lodges to choose Masonic ritual is tantamount to chaos and anarchy. Not paying up to the central authority only means that lodges will go crazy and not toe the appropriate liberal line. People must be forced to be free and the definition of freedom must be provided to them by enlightened leaders. From the Grand Orient's perspective people don't like to be forced to do anything, and when they are, they do so reluctantly. At Halcyon Lodge freedom hasn't created chaos or anarchy. It's allowed for a naturally evolving system of trust and mutual respect to replace the fear brought about by a central authority. We've accomplished more, as a lodge, under the freedom created by the Grand Orient than we had in years under the central authority which we used to operate.

Take home message?
Keep chipping away at those landmarks ...and you'll soon have nothing left but a pile of dust.

God made man out of the dust of the earth. Man made the landmarks. It's only fitting that they return to their source to be re-used for a higher and more noble purpose.
