Hi, I do have questions, expressed as follows/ Do Freemason's experience more spiritual energy than non Freemason's Is the understanding of god / God something that moves to a higher level than non Freemason's encounter Is the brotherhood, one that slowly opens up deeper understanding of the duality where humans need an enemy to be mad at, or their world collapses as they /we look inside and find inner darkness. Thanks in Advance?

If you ask 100 Freemasons 'Do Freemason's experience more spiritual energy than non Freemason's' you will get probably 100 different answers.
The first person to give me advice on Freemasonry was after I was initiated, he said ' think of Freemasonry as a great Novel, read one page at a time and don't sneak a peak at the end to see who dun-it.'
For me Freemasonry is a tool that I use to improve who and what I am.
I am the judge of this and so far I am content with what I have achieved.
I still question and consider everything, I am not satisfied that I have done enough.

Hi , I am new here as well.
Being female we have no access to information about being a Free Mason historically. I was curious to some degree about "the Masons" like most people because of the veil of secrecy. No surprises there.
Years after first hearing about "The Masons' my mother and I stumbled across a very old pamphlet from a lodge in Australia it was tucked away in a shoe box with some of my grandmother's collectables (mostly memorabilia) such as movie star pictures , children's drawings etc sentimental things collected over time.
Anyway ....
In amongst all of those things .... we discovered a very old pamphlet that had a coat of arms on the front , my great grand father's name and a title for him being a "Grand mason" of the Lodge in the suburb he resided near most of his life (afaik).
I have tried to research the Name of that Lodge on the net but to no avail. I don't fully understand the title and I don't know who to ask about the history of a Lodge that seems to have disappeared.
The date and time would be dating back to the 1930's and earlier easily. Are records kept diligently about the Mason Heirachy and past lineage over time (probably poor wording).
All I know is that the Masons could be religious but focus on being rather community minded. They have a code of ethics and a democratic process in how they maintain law and order within the organization.
I think my great grandfather would be from the English Order but I can't be sure. I now know that Coat of Arms and translating the latin motto will let me know quickly unless he was from the orders that didn't merge into the Sottish , Irish or English united orders. That was from doing a bit of quick reading from Wiki.

I have asked for my mother to have a look for the pamphlet to check. Since she has moved and has things in storage. She isn't sure where the pamphlet is specifically but will when possible locate it again to check the latin motto.
He was also awarded a timber box with a brass plaque attached and filled with a silverware cutlery set that is probably bone handled which was common in that era.

Curiosity, I do not know much from the point of fact, as the subject of spiritual enhancement seems to be emotional control, and getting humans to become open to higher understandings of truth. So we are talking about changing the feelings in humans, and not really knowledge. Some of the procedures from spiritual practitioners, involve what for lack of a better term is like a pre-crossover of negative emotions. So the people who assist you in ascension, hold sacred space while you face negative emotions. This is NOT Freemason secret or information, just what the ancients did in the temples to raise a soul to pass through the spiritual locks binding this realm. So holding tether hard and fast on a soul while temptation passes before them is what religion was designed to do. John 15:13 Paraphrased/ No greater love has a person than he lay down his life for a friend, So the willingness to die to protect another is where the strange or deep magic of Loyalty comes from.

Hi Curiosity, welcome.
Your pamphlet may well be a summons. If it is it could have some detail on it that would help track down the Masonic History of your 'great grand father' records are kept of each Lodge and most can be obtained by contacting the individual Lodge concerned.
if you can get your hands on any ifo or that pamphlet we may be able to give you more details. At least we can try.

Hi, I do have questions, expressed as follows/ Do Freemason's experience more spiritual energy than non Freemason's Freemasons are no different to any other seeker. Freemasonry provides tools (symbols and stories) for the brothers to use in their search for a better understanding of the Great Architect of the Universe (God by another name?). People use tools all the time, some use them more skillfully than others and become artisans or craftsmen. Same goes with masonic tools. . I had to read that sentance several times to understand it. Then the light blinded me I do believe you have it right foxfires. One of my personal (painful) experiences with Freemasonry is that as I progressed up the ladder, the greater my imperfections seem to become. I could not determine if they were there all the time but I had not seen them, or whether the increased energies was amplifying my bad points as well as my good points. Perhaps both of those scenarios are true. And I thank you.

Matt, I apologize if I crashed some thought process with this question. Thank You for your sincerity while addressing my question, I do not see this too often LOL
From the point of Masons being seekers or better at it, I feel as if they help a human run the traps of human karma faster that without a human guide.
As far as a God or prime creator, some spiritual people consider there is more than one God, but an ultimate accounting force, and others do the good and bad news bidding, if you will. So I see it as how much old literature has someone read before they discover plethora's of documents that seem / feel (big difference in both) highly plausible of this fact.
As far as the feeling of emotions being out of control, or lets say the emotions hurt with the amount of retrospect present, I will say I have the most fun on the days I go to tell someone what I did wrong. I had to confess some stuff to a boss, and his boss, and a few people in HR and you know when you just stop being proud and loose fear of things, People who hear of what you did wrong just seem to suffer from urinary incontinence, as it is so funny, people have to go drain their bladder, to hear the full story LOLFS. But personal protective emotions have to be dropped to do this feature. Go to an AA meeting with a veteran happy type speaker, to see this real time LOL Thanks!
