Objectivism is a pseudo philosophy formulated by the sociopath Ayn Rand. Rand, a serial killer groupie, based her "philosophy" using the American serial killer, William Edward Hickman as her benchmark for the "superman." Hickman, who murdered a 12 year old girl, dismembered her, taunted her father with the girls head and threw the rest of her body parts from a speeding car.
Objectivism is dangerous as it teaches that supreme selfishness and cruelty are virtues. It beings the morality of the sociopath up to a level of new false enlightenment.
Many of the American Right Wing are open Objectivists. They are taking control of American government and poisoning society with the twisted moral code of Objectivism

It also happens to be a lie. The Journals of AR, on Chap 1, The Objectivist Research CD, said:
"At the age of twenty-three, AR knew that she was not ready to portray her ideal man. Her goal here is less ambitious; she wants only to project her ideal man's sense of life. The protagonist, Danny Renahan, is an independent, uncompromising, nineteen-year-old boy with a passionate hunger for life. Some of Danny's characteristics are based on an actual nineteen-year-old boy, William Edward Hickman, who was the defendant in a highly publicized murder trial that had just taken place in Los Angeles. Hickman was accused of kidnapping and murdering a young girl. He was <jrnl_22> found guilty and sentenced to death in February, of 1928; he was hanged on October 20, 1928.
Judging from the newspaper accounts of the time, Hickman was articulate and arrogant, and seems to have enjoyed shocking people by rejecting conventional views. The public furor against hint was unprecedented. For reasons given in the following notes, AR concluded that the intensity of the public's hatred was primarily "because of the man who committed the crime and not because of the crime he committed." The mob hated Hickman for his independence; she chose him as a model for the same reason.
Hickman served as a model for Danny only in strictly limited respects, which AR names in her notes. Danny does commit a crime in the story, but it is nothing like Hickman's. To guard against any misinterpretation, I quote her own statement regarding the relationship between her hero and Hickman:
[My hero is] very far from him, of course. The outside of Hickman, but not the inside. Much deeper and much more. A Hickman with a purpose. And without the degeneracy. It is more exact to say that the model is not Hickman, but what Hickman suggested to me."
Commiegirl, if, indeed, you are who you claim to be, you will have to do much better than to come on here with outright lies and slander.

The Any Rand Institute themselves show the moral bankruptcy of Objectivism. They specifically site multiculturalism and inclusion as "racist" and they argue against every civil rights position. www.aynrand.orgThey share a virtually identical platform as the openly racist John Birch Society .

I find it hard to discuss this with one who is so uneducated about the facts of the situation.

Rand divided people into two groups: her perfect John Galtian heroes, and everyone else – whom she described as “sub-humans” living in “a hell.” She projected all “evil” onto her “looters” and “parasites” and reserved all goodness for her heroes. Such a division does not exist in real life.
In fact, this division into human/sub-human is one of the foundations of all wars. This all-good/all-bad split is also the basis of all propaganda, which is why Atlas Shrugged is in many ways a vast propaganda tract.
Objectivism is Fascism repackaged. It's actually even worse.
"Fascism should more appropriately be called Corporatism because it is a merger of state and corporate power" Benito Mussolini
"Money is the barometer of a society's virtue." Ayn Rand

Rand was coming from a different time and place. She had seen the workers' paradise so give the lady a bit of a pass. She had a skewed view due to what she had seen.
Fascism is when the state matters more than people. Socialism is when society matters more than people. Your quote from Mussolini is very appropriate to our current military-industrial-congressional complex of people buying legislation and a populace bought off by talking points or inconsequential freebes.

Fascism should more appropriately be called Corporatism because it is a merger of state and corporate power Benito Mussolini Another misunderstanding of a quote. The Corporatism that Mussolini was referring to was not to do with business corporations such as multinationals, but rather corporatism was a kind government in which people were organised into professional blocs (farmers, doctors, teachers, factory workers etc), and those professional blocks were then represented in the decision-making process of the country. Apart from that, I heartily agree that Objectivism (and its little brother, Libertarianism) are spawns of the Devil and completely morally bankrupt.

How in socialism does the society matter more than the people? The society is the people.

If society is the people then my voice matters as much as your's and should not be diminished but heard. Whatever society decides you must abide by, no matter what it is.

There is nothing in socialism that states individuals can't have opinions. In fact, criticism and self criticism is encouraged.

Objectivism nailed at RationalWiki (thanks Alan) — Ayn Rand (excerpt only): The Rand Wiki article is notorious for having Rand-haters constantly going in and injecting their own personal spin into it (which is why you like this particular entry, as you are a rabid Rand-hater). That is why Wiki is so unreliable, any yahoo can, and does, go in and modify the entries.

Amazing how you soooo dislike "Hate Speak" (as you accuse me of engaging in on another forum), yet use the term "Randoid" with impunity, which is simply "Hate Speak" of which you approve.
(The proper term is "Hate Speech." Get it right)

Objectivism is all about hate and disgust for those so unfortunate as to not make "superman" status.

(The proper term is "Hate Speech." Get it right) “Speak” in this context is a colloquial reference to peculiarities of speech characteristic of a particular group. Thus we may have “ political speak” (e.g. dog-whistle politics) or “mason speak (e.g., "meet on the level"). “Hate speak” can be a useful term in reference to Randoids speaking of the primacy of individual rights, when referring to over-privileged individuals, including tycoons exploiting the system under the guise of so-called "rights" they have wrangled and manipulated for themselves (this was the context in which Rand was arguing).

Objectivism is all about hate and disgust for those so unfortunate as to not make "superman" status. Also hate for the critics of Objectivism. From the same RationalWiki page (note Anubis had no response to the substance of the criticism):
