biblesuite.com/hebrew/4224b.htm In your link, as in mine, the meaning is given as "place." Here is a direct link: King James Bible, Strong's Hebrew Dictionary: 4201 (mzuwzah) to 4300 (mtiyl): The word is mentioned only twice in the Bible, neither of which seem especially masonic: Isaiah 3:24 "And a man shall be as an hiding place from the wind, and a covert from the tempest; as rivers of water in a dry place, as the shadow of a great rock in a weary land." And, I Samuel 23:23 "See therefore, and take knowledge of all the lurking places where he hideth himself, and come ye again to me with the certainty, and I will go with you: and it shall come to pass, if he be in the land, that I will search him out throughout all the thousands of Judah."

"Hall traces much masonic ritual (such as Crata Repoa) and symbolism back to ancient Egypt, specifically to Osirian legends (in which Osiris dies, and is sought after by his son Horus, "the son of the widow" - the widow being Isis) Hall comments on learned Greeks like Plutarch, Plato, and Solon, who were initiated by Egyptian priests into "the brotherhood." Some would argue the origins of such rituals go back much further, to whatever civilization came before Egypt. Hall quotes P. Le Page Renouf: "The difficulty is not in literally translating the text, but in understanding the meaning which lies concealed beneath familiar words. A great part of Egyptian literature is cryptic; its true significance was probably unknown in the Ptolemaic period even to the Egyptians themselves."" www.amazon.com/Freemasonry-Ancient-Egyptians-Interpretation-Initiation/product-reviews/B000N1PFD8/ref=dp_top_cm_cr_acr_txt?showViewpoints=1From your link:

Well, I guess you better think again... "The Blue Degrees are but the portico (porch) of the Temple. Part of the symbols are displayed there to the initiate, but he is intentionally misled by false interpretations. It is not intended that he shall understand them; but it is intended that he shall imagine that he understands them...their true ecplication (explanation / understanding) is reserved for the Adepts, the Princes of Masonry." Albert Pike, "Morals and Dogma," 30th Degree, p. 189I might add that since Masonry is a God Ordained Institution, the Symbolism used will be consistent with how the Scriptures use the same symbolism - such as the Sandals coming off and the Water Pouring as mentioned above. You won't find this consistency in 33* Masonry as Mr. Pike makes clear however, you will find it in original York Rite Masonry as I have presented in the video above and in this thread. Do not overly rely on Pike. BTW, you are addressing members of the York Rite on this forum. For example, among other masonic honours, I have been anointed a H.R.A.K.T.P. in the highest Order of the Rite.

And, obviously, Pike's words apply to you - York Rite or no. Why? Pike was expressing an opinion with which most serious Masons disagree. Freemasonry consists of consecutive lessons, with time given between each degree to digest what has already been communicated. Subsequent degrees may reveal more detail and greater depths but Candidates have not been mislead (as is said of the deity, we are subtle but not devious). BTW, I am in both the "York" and "Scottish" Rites, and more.

I figured that much out all on my own when I realized they claimed to be Scottish when, in fact, they were not. Had you asked an official source you would have been told. "Scottish" in this instance refers NOT to historical origins BUT to what were understood to be "Scottish" forms of Freemasonry.

They chose that name to try and garnish some semblance of authority compared to the York Rite Masonry, pure and simple and in doing so they deceived the initiate. And plenty of people have verified the words of Mr. Pike including the individual who started the Bavarian Illuminati and, further, as stated the use of Symbols would be consistent with the Scriptural use of the same symbols which is obviously not true of 33* Masonry as you prove by calling that very comparision, garbage.

Well that is because you believe that John Robinson's Book, Born in Blood is garbage. Had you read it you would know that that "Lost Word" would have been used by the Templars while they were on the run to obtain, "refuge". Don't know about you but most peolpe would consider refuge to include the concept of shelter. But, hey, in 33* Masonry I guess they don't...

Now let us get it really clear.
You may have your opinions and theories and you may put them here, however if the rudeness continues, you will not be allowed to continue.
Debate and interaction is fine, the massaging of anyones EGO is not.

So, the Bible is garbage, genius? As Bro. Gershwin wrote, "The things that you're liable to read in the Bible, it aint necessarily so." Even if we take the Bible to be "gospel" (pun intended), the preponderance of garbage on which you rely makes your conclusions to be at best a curate's egg.

Bear in mind that the designation of both "York" and "Scottish" for the respective Rites are American affectations. I suggest you read "York Mysteries Revealed" by Rev. Bro. Neville Barker Cryer (recently deceased, RIP).
