Are Irish Masons a cynical bunch by nature? Maybe it's hereditary suspicion handed down in the genes through centuries .
Maybe. I think however some do not want to face the reality of what is going on, because it means, they have to get creative and do something about it to effect change or reform.
They don't like hearing things that have potential to upset them or take them out of their humdrum daily routines. They avoid it. And if somebody stands up and is pointing out deficiencies, shortcomings and mistakes he is bullied by a gang of wolfs.
Masonry is laughed at or simply ignored in our society.
Why?
Because the tendency to sectarianism is evident. We have an Anglican church influenced conservative masonry. They want to keep among themselves. They exclude others. They have a barricade of wagons mentality.
When I had the idea to found a LIBERAL branch of masonry, I thought I had enthusiastic people around me, who would support the idea, well a few supported it, the rest did nothing and only waited to take over. We have now two groups, the original GMOIRL, which is continuing to work with a number of loyal lodges and a split off group, who cannot even pay their own website and hijacked it, though it is not even their property and has not been paid by them.
What a miserable group of so called masons. I would not even buy a second hand car from them. Are they behaving in the same manner in their professional life?
When people with little intelligence try to take over, the system will fail, they are not innovative but only copying, they are not constructive, but destructive, they are not brothers but double tongued and double faced.
The normal law is not applying for them, they want to harm people, it is a delight for them.
What surprised me even more, or better, it did not surprise me, is the religious hypocrisy. Those protagonists are all over religious. I ask myself, how can they stand in their churches and fold their hands and do evil to others at the same time?
The state of Freemasonry in Ireland was always debatable. The mainly protestant freemasonry is rubbing shoulders with the Orange Order, which is IMO not compatible with Freemasonry.
Liberal freemasonry should have a chance if Masonry is free of bias, hypocrisy, resentment, disunity, hatred and rancour and comes back to brotherhood and honesty and empathy.
If Freemasonry has this strength fine, otherwise it will sink back into insignificance.
