Welcome David, you can contact the local Provincial Office for assistance. Depends on where you are but mostly they cover the County. I am in Essex so my local area is governed by The Provincial Grand Lodge of Essex. yu can fine the list at www.ugle.org.uk/about/provinces

My Lodge Ranges from 21 to 68 , most are around the 35 to 45 mark. But every Lodge is different. Many Lodges will have a mean age range. It kinda makes sense because people introduce their pals mostly and pals are likely to be in the same age bracket.
If you have a Lodge near you then I would contact them or the Hall where they meet and just ask. Tell them you asked here and we said go have a chat.
One thing you can bet on is Freemasons love to talk about Freemasonry.
As soon as they see you are genuine they will react warmly I am confident of this.
