Does anyone have a lack of imagination, by which I mean they are unable to visualise things?
I have always struggled when someone has asked me to visualise and only recently discovered that I am not alone but that a very small percentage of the population is the same.
What I mean is that I cannot see anything.
If you ask me to close my eyes and visualise an object or person all I see is a grey mist.
I once tried to keep a journal to record my dreams with the idea being that as soon as I opened my eyes I would immediately capture what I had dreamt of. This led to the discovery that over a six week period I did not have a single dream.
As a child at the age of 7 I was run over by a car which resulted in a fractured skull and I now wonder if this may have contributed.
What I am looking for is a way to train (or re-train) my mind.
- looking on rungs of the ladder (subplanes) on which the target does not exist - collecting and organizing sufficient light body substance to see on those subplanes - some types of light body develop inner sight later in the sequence - programming to inhibit inner sight - external interference in your inner faculties.
When you read the above, do any particular items grab you?
Thank you for that Peter. it was most enlightening. After doing some research it appears that I may have what is being termed "Aphantasia" in that I cannot see anything using my imagination. An example might be, if you show me a picture of someone I know, I can tell you who they are....but if say a Police sketch artist was to ask me to describe someone I would not be able to, apart from to tell them the basics (sex, hair colour, skin colour etc). I can not even describe my children.
Up until recently I was not even aware that other people could "see" like this.
I have sat in meditation classes before listening to the "imagine you are walking on a beach, hear the waves lapping against the shore, see the palm trees waving in the breeze etc" Nope, just the grey mist.
omni: In my Lodge the Secretary is a hugh bully along with control issues. if anyone even asks a question he files masonic charges against them. He controls members mostly because they are afraid of him.

foriamhim: To omni: Grow some balls, that lodge is yours as well as every member in that lodge. If you are right, its not your problem. Nobody likes the ugliness of masonic charges. Light will always illuminate darkness, don't be afraid, be a better man.
