It was brought up at a practice of opening on the third degree. Why do the deacons switch the staffs from one side of their bodies to the other as they move about the lodge. I have tried looking it up in the floor work and am unable to find the information.
It is my experience that Freemasonry is demonstrating a science. For those that have eyes to see.
The symbols are the teachers, and each symbol asks those that seek a question. Each seeker must answer the question for himself... hence the 'free' in freemasonry. Remember the lesson of the Mark degree.
Progress is good and inevitable ... if not very slow at times.
->Peter, you can not go by what you are not taught.
Dare I say that this is where the Deacons come in... JD = In-tuition. The opening of the lodge indicates that what comes down from 'on high' is filtered down (transformed) till it reaches our Intellect in a form we recognise. Whether we take notice or not is another thing.
Physical science has already demonstrated that the 'teachings' can slow progress rather than expedite it.

The Ancient: sbs59: Were you suspended for non payment of dues? if so, square up and petition the lodge for a restatement vote. If your dues are current, your still a member. In this case, it is all about the Benjamins.
