(Non-"Mason") I find my own pursuit of knowledge, Christian mysticism mostly, overlaps some Masonic symbolism etc. It leads me to the question is it simply repackaged geometry, mythology, sacred texts, etc. of the ancients with a few new symbols and insights to make it somewhat personal to the "club"? Why is it not for everybody? Is it like the Hiram story of those bad guys who killed him, so they don't deserve to learn? Don't you think if the world was better educated and everybody had more love and compassion and wisdom they would never turn into those guys in the first place? I know history of persecution also, Waldensians, Cathars, Beguines, etc. And I know Masons were persecuted with Jehovah's Witnesses, Jews, etc. during WWII also, so maybe those are the reasons for its "secrecy", but still I wonder if the world would be a much better place if everyone was educated properly with the mystical and sacred science, and to know and understand these things, instead of the fear and mistrust surrounding the mystery, and mostly the apparent secrecy. We all know there is something working behind the scenes, dragging the world into ignorance and to the lowest levels of fear, hate, etc. People don't know exactly who, so I guess it unfairly falls on scapegoats. Jesus teaches that we should be teaching everyone. He said in Matthew 23:13 "Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You shut the kingdom of heaven in men’s faces. You yourselves do not enter, nor will you let in those who wish to enter." I see this in religion. Men seek positions of exclusive power and authority and prevent people from learning the true meaning. It is said the esoteric schools were stamped out by Rome during early Christianity. So I just wonder, is it simply that, protected and preserved knowledge, and maybe now that everyone has access to it freely, maybe it can help elevate the world and the minds of all humanity?

> is it simply repackaged geometry, mythology, sacred texts, etc. of the ancients with a few new symbols It is a good question and for brethren that do not apply themselves that is what it is. Now we are told that Freemasonry is a science - and certainly before 1717 there were some outstanding scientists in Masonry. Since 1717 the underlying science of Masonry has not been generally understood. There are however aspects of Masonic Science to be found (or at least experienced) in the ritual by worthy brethren. Brethren become worthy by substantial accomplishment of the work of the Entered Apprentice that may be summarized as establishing right relationships, internally and externally. Once the work of the Fellowcraft is underway (study of the hidden mysteries of nature and science) it is increasingly possible for the brother to recognize aspects of Masonic Science as applied in the ritual. If however the brethren have not advanced in the work of the FC they see the ritual as symbolic rather than applied science. Aspects of Masonic Science include the design, building and placement of buildings on a managed sacred landscape. This part of Masonic Science is very similar to Feng Shui. Here are the founders of China with Square and Compasses, Sun, Moon and Stars - all very Masonic Other aspects of Masonic Science include the cultivation of relationships of intelligent beings with the greater system. As with any science, small actions can produce great effects, and this aspect of Masonic Science is veiled by allegory and protected by secrecy. A crude application of some of the principles can be found in NLP where the practitioner attempts to manipulate the behavior of others. Masonic Science is however considerably more extensive and includes the management of the temple that extends from East to West and North to South and from the center of the Earth to the Heavens - and beyond into yet more refined functions. Fortunately or unfortunately very few humans progress much beyond gardening - where can be discovered many of the principles of Masonic Science.

Peter, thank you for your reply. I'd be interested to hear if you have anything else to add about the other points. Thanks again.

>Is it like the Hiram story of those bad guys who killed him
The Hiram story first appears about 1725 and is an instant ancient landmark. It is better to consider the other HR names: Horus x2, Hermes, Hercules, Hera, and the other Hiram.
What does the HR root mean?
>Don't you think if the world was better educated and everybody had more love and compassion
Do you think that situation of Earth humans is accidental?
>I wonder if the world would be a much better place if everyone was educated properly with the mystical and sacred science
Educare: Latin "to draw out". Most education is about putting in and training to run in tracks of approved thought.
>I see this in religion. Men seek positions of exclusive power and authority
Why is it so? What is there in men that seeks power?
>It is said the esoteric schools were stamped out by Rome during early Christianity.
The Gnostics (knowers) kept being reborn. Stamping them out did not help in the long term.
> maybe now that everyone has access to it freely, maybe it can help elevate the world
There is much scientific and spiritual knowledge withheld from most Earth humans for good and bad reasons.
Nature always is prepared to admit the worthy to its secrets - provided they work hard.

I believe that the main reason why the knowledge were hidden is greed. People realized how the not educated masses can be manipulated for their own profit and working for them. Why kabbalah were not allowed to study before reaching 40? Today adults call them selfs adult only because they reached certain age. The truth is we are all babies. Our knowledge is poor but people are waking up and the knowledge with the 21st century is not anymore so hidden... it is only my opinion.

>the main reason why the knowledge were hidden is greed. Four men entered pardes — Ben Azzai, Ben Zoma, Acher (Elisha ben Abuyah),and Rabbi Akiva. Ben Azzai looked and died; Ben Zoma looked and went mad; Acher destroyed the plants; Akiva entered in peace and departed in peace.[2] en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pardes_(legend)Pardes means a walled garden. It comes to us as Paradise. There are great dangers in forcing Kabbalistic practices including damage that carries over into later lives. One of the important Kabbalistic practices is veiled under the story of Jacob's ladder. In my view Kabbalistic practices are embedded in an old planetary cycle. For most practitioners it is better they move into the new.

"Do you think that situation of Earth humans is accidental?"
I don't think it's an accident. I think from the day people are born they're being conditioned and dumbed down intentionally. The world is in such a mess. It seems like some are failing in their responsibility to use whatever position and power they have to make the world a better place, where every individual can live up to their full potential for good and contribution to the world to help others.
"Why is it so? What is there in men that seeks power?"
Weakness?
Ignorance, fear, hate, greed, selfishness, etc. all of those negative things we need to defeat within ourselves, and try to help others to also.

dawid83. Yeah with books a lot of knowledge and wisdom has been made available, and now with technology everyone has a figurative Library of Alexandria in their pocket. But you're right people have been conditioned to be workers for a system that doesn't care, doesn't care about people or the environment, only money, profit and control. I'm so grateful for all books, websites, videos, etc. that I learn from and then I share with others, so maybe they will be helped by it also. It's very human to share. To share some berries or mushrooms you gathered or grew. Then someone had the idea to sell or trade rather than just give and share. Sadly. Still I believe in that, community gardening, grow and share food freely.

There are certainly intelligences that want that but there are also intelligences that oppose oppression of Earth humans. Earth humans are embedded in a much larger system.
>What is there in men that seeks power?" Weakness?
In a sense that is true. There is an intelligence within humans that seeks to control its environment as a means of self-defense. That is not an evil intelligence and is reprogrammed in those humans that achieve enlightenment.

I think I may have first encountered gematria in the movie Pi (1998). Have you seen it? I didn't quite get it at the time that I first watched it, but I later learned more about it from a number of places in my research and learned it is also something Masons study. There's probably not much I could share here that you don't know about. Here is a site I learned some stuff from. GEMATRIA IN THE BIBLE. There's also a site about the meaning of the Hebrew letters I found pretty interesting. Alphabet of Kabbalah. I read an essay by Alvin Boyd Kuhn a Theosophist. MARY MAGDALENE and Her Seven Devils. And a book by James M. Pryse. THE APOCALYPSE UNSEALED. I can't say I agree with everything therein, but parts were helpful. There are a bunch of books on the site I found that book. MRS HUMAN SAYS. So just sharing some things I found interesting. There are a bunch of other sites. sacred-texts.comwww.gnosis.org/library.htmlclassics.mit.edu/Browse/index.htmlI think part of the problem with learning and sharing/teaching is there's just so much, and it can be a little overwhelming, and it takes a certain dedication. And people will always be at different places in their development and understanding. Structured learning I guess is useful in that way. I hope as always that something I shared is useful.

>the movie Pi (1998). Have you seen it? The source of the movie material posts everyday here: www.armstrongeconomics.com/> it is also something Masons study. Only a few Masons study the Kabbalah - most having little interest in such matters. In any case my view is that the planetary cycle has moved on. >part of the problem with learning and sharing/teaching is there's just so much, It may be worth considering whether learning can occur in the absence of experience. How do we obtain sufficient of the right sorts of experience? These days I am much more discriminating about what I read. Too many writers seem superficial and are speculative rather than operational. Still there is much on sacred-texts that is worth reading - depending upon one's path and stage.

I think anything is worth reading if it provides an insight into understanding, something that you didn't know or understand before. I think I know what you mean though. A lot of it is quite trivial and doesn't address the practical application of self development. For me personally there are some gems that helped me to make a little more sense of things, the Bible in particular, and an interpretation of the meaning and symbolism of certain parts of it. Knowledge, wisdom, understanding, are a solid foundation. Here's something else I found interesting. More triviality I suppose. The beauty and wonder inspires the imagination. www.youtube.com/watch?v=ciM6wigZK0wwww.youtube.com/watch?v=ineO1tIyPfMwww.youtube.com/watch?v=qhbuKbxJsk8

Stretching the imagination in this way forces the mind to work in higher frequencies (subplanes) - helping prepare for higher consciousness.

I can say with clarity and certainty that there is a "force" belittling mankind. There a good ones one could say.... however in the last century it seems like a downward struggle for the "good guys" I'm generalizing, but those who can " feel the pulse of society " would understand.
Enlightening texts that once existed in the past have been surgically cut out and disposed of. Now we have codes and stories to shroud it for only a select few who are able to have the time and awareness to accomplish
Those that do acquire knowledge and use it are either recruited, m.i.a. Or bought out
Today Secrecy seems to be necessary. Cloaks, to hide oneself from being judged by others. Acts of kindness, and the betterment of humanity needs to be conducted secretly. A subtle wave that can penetrate all negative fields of varying intensities
If we want change, we need to rethink a child's education. We started with nursery rhymes, but now the parents can't even explain them to their kids, or don't have the time

If you're interested in the Kabbalah.. en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zoharen.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Christian_Knorr_von_RosenrothIf you're interested in biology or gardening I would recommend learning about flax, and more importantly linen. Why it was used in ancient times, could there be benefits in wearing it (Ph balance, base /acidity) The next step is using it for spiritual purposes One of the first things I learned is the importance of clothing relating to health and as protection from others negative influences. Do Masons still use "real" linen?

That is certainly what the dark forces would like humans to believe. Still in recent decades Earth humans have become serious about dealing with:
- ecosystems - oppression of women - distribution of wealth - oppression of workers - privacy - child abuse - oppression of minority cultures - etc

In the Hindu tradition there are 12 senses. And to those I could add indefinitely:
- sense of justice - sense of humour - nose for a story - sense of direction - sense of time - tin ear (inverse) - etc

> the importance of clothing relating to health and as protection from others negative influences.
Freemasons in craft lodges wear aprons - the badge of innocence. Traditionally this is made of lambskin. In Australia it is more often of kangaroo skin or vinyl.
Animal skins can be used to insulate energies - in this case genital energies - so that a brother appears innocent.
It may well be that Egyptians used linen in their ritual aprons for the same reason. Although it is also possible that they were more strict about entry into their mysteries and only permitted candidates that had learned to control their sexual energies.

You speak of these dark forces. Perhaps we can put names to these entities, or rather somewhere where they are recorded in history.
We can write scores of ups and downs of society, the benefits and disadvantages. It depends what means most to an individual and their experiences. There is always a varying degree. These can bring bigger questions..
