True in the wider sense but as far as the specific duties of the Deacons are concerned they are not needed during the period of the Installation I have detailed so at that point their Office is redundant. (Remember that technically it is the job which is made Redundant, not the person performing it in the World at large). The Almoner and Charity Steward unless they have other Offices have little indeed to do during a Meeting save perhaps to give a brief report, but are nonetheless important Officers although I personally do not like the change which put them above the Deacons in precedence and meant that they are Invested before them at the Installation

We are nearly all familiar with the closing: Do you consider the Lodge closed after the SW declares it so? Would you walk out then if you had urgent business? There is still quite a lot of things to do: TBs, VSL, closing ode, procession... So when is the Lodge closed?

IMHO the Lodge remains open while the VSL is unfolded. However, it would be the height of rudeness to leave before the Master had left. For your business to be so urgent that it couldn't wait that few minutes until he had departed, you would have to be someone pretty important - on a level with King Solomon or the GAOTU perhaps? ;D

We are taught two passwords each in the 2nd and 3rd degrees. We are given a password leading from the 1st to the 2nd and from the 2nd to the 3rd. So at the end of the 3rd we should know 5 passwords.
But J S M Ward says that there is a password leading up to the 1st degree.
He says that the phrase is T. of G R, or F & of G R.
I told this to my friends in the sewage works and they poo-pooed the idea. What do you think?
