Steve,
Digressing a little, the Moseley Masonic Hall Co in which my mother lodge meets charges capitation fees and number of formal meetings per year. This means that all lodge members pay the same "rent" irrespective of the size of the lodge and use of meeting rooms for other purposes is then free. Do you really believe that this is unfair?

Ok its quite simple really. You rent a room, in the end that is what a Temple is, likewise an LOI Room etc. The Fixed Overheads are the same if 5 or 50 people are in occupation . So if a Lodge is charged a fixed sum then that seems fair to me. This is what hotels, meeting halls, pubs etc where some Lodges meet charge them, a fixed hire, whether it is the Masons, a Budgie Club, or a Drama Club they pay to hire the room however many members they may have. I'd far rather pay that than a Capitation based charge.
