Russell do uhave any links to diagonal or semi circle pavements, just off the top of my head the size of the pavement could have something to do with the golden ratio, and the diagonals and semi circles could be hints (I've been curious about the pavement for a while and while im on it the taleslated border what is the number of diagonals if there is a specific number. Cheers Sean

Sean The semi-circle pavements occur in some depictions of the Holy Royal Arch And here is a depiction of a diagonal pavement freemasonry.bcy.ca/texts/gmd1999/tb07.htmlI am not yet satisfied whether the diagonal pavement is signficant or not I would like to experience a temple with such a pavement Cheers Russell

thnx russell, if u take another look at that picture u will notice that it is actualy part of a radiating circle not a diagonal u can tell by the sides. intersting
I've just spent a while looking and I can't find anything on the floor of the temple. It seems to only be mention in reference to freemasonry. I'd like to know how many squares there were in the temple and how many diagonals in the indented border if any one can hook me up.

Interesting point on the pavement -- it is a spiral itself ... just look.

... and we have one in the temple we work in as Rite... Do we unconsciously stress the geodetic level?

Greetings Sisters and Brethren, Further up this thread, Bro. Giovanni posted a link to a former post of his containing several quotes on matters of FM and other rituals from Bro. René Guénon's last work published during his lifetime, called The Great Triad[/url] in English translation. Yours truly finds it unsurprising that there is amongst FM Sisters and Brethren a wide scope of views and opinions on appreciation, preferences and understanding amongst authors on FM and related subjects. IMHO FM expects us to learn from such differences whilst exercising empathy for our fellow FM, all the more so when their views seem to collide with ours.

Why square the lodge? Interested in resuscitating this conversation. Note... the room is the temple and the brethren form/are the lodge.

This is an old thread. These days it is obvious to me that there is a rectangular energy grid pattern across the floor of the temple that extends to E to W and N to S etc. When/where the energy is more intense the landscape grid "tiles" are smaller. In a local lodge the landscape grid comes into the temple at about a moderate angle to the alignment of the tiled pavement. The energy flows then line up with the pavement but resume their original path on the other side.
The existence of grids is known to dowsers. The best known are the Curry grid and the Hartmann grid.
Neither of these is what I see in the landscape or the lodge.

I had never known the tracing board picture was for the purpose of degrees. Im not sure what you all are able to share, but I was wondering if there was any reason everything in the picture has an opposite besides the crescent moon? The edge of the cloud on the bottom left almost gets close to reaching it but still no profound shape to oppose the moon. Just something I noticed and my brain is picking at me.

Tracing boards are primarily memory aids for the symbolism of the particular degree ritual. The arrangement of symbols is therefore artistic.
Some first degree tracing boards however introduce new material and perhaps tell a story.
