And so does the Tree...And what's the bird living in your tree, Andrew, hmm? Or rather, out of your tree.

Ignorance is Bliss.
You certainly seem happy with it.
Perhaps happy isn't precisely the right word: if you were happy you wouldn't keep on stabbing at me with post after post. Post seldom or not at all, and you fatten your mystique: post often and you enfeeble your position.

>no one will give you a rational explanation on the figure. It's all about God and God and God again.
Andrew
I propose that the current geometric form is visible in the landscape at macro and micro levels
I have seen it so far for 4 land masses. Iona, Australia, New Zealand and New Guinea.
I induce that the pattern is more generally applicable.
The connection with god may be that the creation is made in the image of the creator

Bro Russell,
That is an interesting proposition that warrants further investigation.
At least it is not based on theolgical mystique but rationalism!

Andrew I propose that the current geometric form is visible in the landscape at macro and micro levels Cheers Russell Ok, to explore this further. In order for this figure to preoccupy the human mind so much it follows that it is quite important and it carries important information usually associated with survival of the species. Now if it is visible in the landscape (as Russell suggests) it also follows that it must be visible in all areas of the planet, or at least in the area of the eastern mediterranean where the figure originated from (we theorise). So Russell, is it visible there, or in all lands?

I expect that it is visible in all areas. The trick is to get your eye adjusted to find it.
For example, with New Zealand (2 elongated islands) it took me about 6 months of meditation to discover the trick. You have to rotate the southern island over the northern island to see the full tree.
If you want to do that for the mediterrean area, you will need to establish a natural landmass and then examine the places of spiritual, tourist, commercial and population interests to identify potential sephira.
I suggest you start with the African continent. At least we can be fairly sure that it is a natural entity in the landmass context

Post seldom or not at all, and you fatten your mystique: post often and you enfeeble your position. ...but if you are really free (of fear) you will not worry what others think of you. I think they are the shew bread of the old testament: "Exodus 25:30. And thou shalt set upon the table shew-bread before me always"
But I doubt that the shew bread was made with flour from wheat.
Some of the work of Laurence Gardener (while a bit suspect in some ways) shows a variety of shew bread illustration. He connects it to white gold (monatomic). I expect there is more to be understood particularly as the sumerian illustrations show a naturalistic tree.

I really do not personally consider that what may be points of terrestial significance are to be taken for the spiritual model of the Kabalistic Tree of Life that comes to us via the insights within Jewish esoteric tradition. Of course one may view the Earth, or parts of the Earth, and find how major centres of human habitation, significant natural landscape, and major connecting routes, can be made to fit a model with twists and turns - but that is not the Tree of Life, but rather viewing the landscape via lenses that have a particular form. One of the earliest 'models' of the Sefirot is the following:

It is really a question of whether the Tree of Life is embedded in creation (and therefore visible) or whether it is an artificial teaching device and thereby not seeable except by distorting reality.
As the Tree can be used for magi-cal operations I expect that the former is a better hypothesis.
Then of course we may test the hypothesis - for example by seeing if the qualities of the major cities of Australia are predictable from their places on the Tree

Pythagoras
And I doubt God is ever bored, in the normal sense of boredom. And I've heard it said the point of creation is to allow God to perceive (rather in the way our bodies allow us to perceive).
And JMD, I have a certain fondness for that particular model of the TOL. While it does seem to put the Ein Sof rather far away from what i take to the Monad, I do like the emanation from that point within those circles. Wheels within wheels.
As to the rest . . . I'm afraid I haven't studied too many alien influences so I think I've said all I can possibly contribute.

Indeed Bro Andrew , the old 3-4-5 "The Square of the Hypotenuse etc" and this is what is suspended from the Past Master's Collars in UGLE Craft and no doubt in other Constitutions.
