The following is a summary of what to expect;
Our Masonic ritual is over 200 years old and the lecture attempts to focus on the words, phraseology used and their derivation. It includes brief sections which highlight the main features, in terms of a recapitulation of the following areas:
The Origin of Freemasonry
The Origin of the English Language
The English Language in the 18th and 19th Centuries
The Origins of the Ritual
Before moving on to the main sections.
The Language of the Ritual
Do we need to modernise our ritual?
Booklets are on sale of the lecture in extended form, price £5 and all profits will be donated to ‘The Downs Syndrome Educational Trust’ as well as the Festive Board Raffle.
If you wish to stay for the festive board, the menu is as follows:
Egg Mayonnaise, Chicken & Ham Pie, Hot Chocolate Pudding, Cheese & Biscuits.
£19.00 inclusive of Red/White Wine.
Please inform the Secretary of Regency Lodge if you wish to attend the meeting and Festive Board.. Due to expected numbers please send a Cheque of £19.00 payable to ‘Regency Lodge No. 6349’ if you require a meal. No meal will be ordered without receipt of payment.
