The paper submission has closed in August 2008 and the selections have been made. Over 100 papers were received of which some 70 papers will be presented in 22 sessions along with 4 plenary lectures and the 2009 Prestonian Lecture. Like the 2007 event there will be three parallel sessions running to mid morning on the Saturday and two parallel sessions until the conference ends on the Sunday.
As 2009 is a special year it being the 250th Anniversary since the birth of the National Bard and Brother, Robbie Burns. It is my understanding that this will be the last conference in Edinburgh before it moves on. There are also a number of papers that have been submitted about the life and work of Robbie Burns especially in relation to his masonic activities.
