I have noticed that at times there are quite a few guests on the forum.Maybe this is because forum members are just lurking without logging in or wether there are guests lurking . Do you think these guests should be able to make posts without registering as a member or do you think this would leave the forum open to Antis or Troll posters. As this is an open and democratic forum i thought i would leave it up to you and would invite your response.

I say NO
That way we can control any trolls or rabid antis that come here
I have no problem with those who are prepared to debate sensibly and civilly but have seen problems with certain individuals on other boards

Lee, though I see your point fully, I am, however, inclined to agree with Wayne. There will always be those who just "lurk" and are very happy doing that for awhile. My experience is they usually become members when they feel ready and "learn the ropes", so to speak. I really do believe that if someone wants to post they will do so. And becoming a member in order to do so, will not be a problem. Let's face it they can use any user-name they wish, anyway

If visitors want to comment they should do so in the formal manner, least we get inundated with gibberish. There's enough to sort thru' with the present membership, let alone all 7 sundry!

Definitely not!
I'm with Wayne and Leo here, we could be open to all sorts of flames, trolls, abusive posters etc. I also agree that many members will from time to time merely watch but not log on. I do so myself if at work as whilst they do not mind one looking at Fora such as this in one's break they could object to one logging in and posting . In sch cases I would appear as a Guest.

I know I can't vote - but I would say no. It's bad enough having Leo as a mod.....
