Bro Taylorsman,
a question, In England do you have to go trough RA and then KT before you can be invited in the CBSC?

Master Masons are given an ivory key in a collarette, but the one you have seen is probably the green sash with a golden key worn in VII, or in a black sash as in VIII.

Bro Taylorsman, a question, In England do you have to go trough RA and then KT before you can be invited in the CBSC? Vadro You have to be a Past Zerubabel and a member of Knights Templar to be invited to join CBCS. In England the CBCS is almost impossible to join, at the moment The one recognised CBCS working in England is under the authority of the Grand Master of The KT (Leslie Dring) There are appox 20 members and you have to be at least the equivalent of a Provincial Grand Master to be invited! However there are still options for those tenacious enough! You can join The CBCS in Belgium where there are at least 3 English speaking Lodges (I am a member of one) or you can join a CBCS in England that is unrecognised by both England and Belgium! This is quite difficult because you have to know who is in it to even begin to attempt to join! Finally, in this Country (Under Dring) they only confer the CBCS Degree which is the 6th Grade of the Order. I know there is going to be a demonstration of the 4th Degree at MMH to the members in England (They have never seen it!). And it is strongly rumoured that after this event there may be a chance of The CBCS becoming more prolific in England. It is an incredibly interesting Order and very closely linked to Martinism (More closely linked than most members realise!)

Middlepillar,
Thanks for the exhaustive answer. Mine was a curiosity, firstly because as I said also in other treads I am still a FC, and secondly because as far as I know we don’t have a CBCS in Italy, so I was interested in learning more about it.
Our York Rite (under the GOI) is, I believe, similar to the so-called American System, which includes the Royal Arch Chapter ( with MMM incorporated), the Cryptic Degrees and the KT.
I think that under UGLE you can go from RA to KT, while in Italy one go though the Cryptic Degrees first.
Very interesting!

That is correct Vadro, once an RA Companion one can become a KT here in England.

I voted the Royal and Select Masters, as I am already a member of this order. When I joined a few years ago I soon realised that it is an important part of the "Hiramic" degrees. It also has probably one of the most solemn pieces of masonic ritual of all the orders.

I am in Mark and will be Exhalted into RA in Oct. The next degree for me would be Red Cross of Constantine. The only problem is that there are only Craft, Mark and RA Lodges (in English) in Spain , as far as I know.

Bro Peter, if sufficient number of suitably qualified Brethren are interested, could you not apply to found a new Conclave in Spain?

Bro Steve, Yes I will be looking into it. Do you know of any good sites to look at for more info?(Red Cross of Constantine). Also I sometimes go back to your area, I used to live less than a mile from the Berkshire Masonic Centre Mole Road, Sindlesham Wokingham Berkshire. Is there a RCoC Lodge there?

Lets presume you are in Mark & Chapter, I am intersted to see what Orders attract the most attention from the members of this Forum. Please do not include an Order you are in. (Tm I dont think you, Jules or me can vote!) But feel free to 'advise' (Bod, I know you are in Secret Monitor so you cannot vote other! And before you say it there are only 8 choices ) Be warned,if anyone seems really keen I will send a joining form ;D ;D And MP probably has a joining form for all the others not listed !

I've just completed my RA this past year and plan to take a break for a little while. Right now my focus is on the Craft lodge and some SR involvement. Unfortunately there is too little time for me to give proper attention to any further groups at the moment. Once I have completed the chairs in my craft lodge I'll probably get more involved elsewhere.
