If women were disrespected at all in a male-only lodge, I'd be the first to kick up a stink. Your experience is different to mine and you are indeed fortunate if you have not encountered such disrespect (have you raised the topic?). For much of last century the involvement of women in Freemasonry was actively opposed by mainstream Freemasons (many still deny that women CAN be Freemasons!). The recent official relaxation of that opposition is arguably no more than is possible given current legislation).

How do i become a member am in southafrica and i wish i member could contact me on what to do or what is needed from me, okonkwocc@yahoo.com Hi Johnyside and welcome to the forum. As you are new to the forum I feel I should point out it's usually best to start your own topic when you wish to ask a specific question, that way you're assured more responses . That aside for now, tell us which area of Freemasonry are you interested in? Do you wish, for example, to join Male only, Woman only (providing you're female, that is) or would mixed gender Masonry (Co-Freemasonry) be more to your liking?
