Are you showing (teaching) the viewer in word and in Symbol (Picture)?
or are you asking a question?
well mostly i draw for the fun of it and to express myself.
the theme of the drawing is initiation, something that is
a big thing on my mind for the last year or so, and it
represent a big change in the way i see myself and the world.
"Newly Risen, How Bright Thou Shinest"
thats right
(There may also be a suggestion of, "To find the Light, Shine!"
i hadnt thought of that, but i like it
the hebrew word is levitan or leviathan.
it is an alternative name for the ouroboris:
levi - 'joined to'
than - 'to elongate'
and also it means serpent.
i took it from eliphas levi's talisman of the inverted
pentagram with the ouroboris around it and the goat inside.
sometimes referred to as 'the goat of mendez'.
some versions wich do not have the ouroboris have instead the
word levitan around it.
also another thing effecting me deeply right now is astrotheology.
this image represents the universe, and the ribbon/ouroboris
represents its macro manifestation the milky way.
it is the center of the galaxy that looks like the snake biting its tail, and it is also the backdrop of sunrise at the winter solstice.
boaz and jachin in this image also represent castor and pollux
from gemini, and the phoenix used to be an older symbol for what is now scorpio.
so ure looking trough one cardinal point onto another, and this is
also what the sky looks like at winter solstice, using the old symbol of the phoenix instead of the scorpion.
the pyramid i made sure (i hope) to have exactly 72 stones visible.
72 is the number of years in 1 degree of the precessional cycle.
there are 7 steps to climb the pyramid for the 7 classic planets.
4 levels of each 3 layers of stones for 4 seasons and 12 months.
and overall the pyramid represents the earth, and at the same timethe adytum, the inner shrine. as above so below and all that.
the snake at the bottem is ego that needs to be overwon, but also it symbolise the need to be 'bitten'.
i cant realy explain that, other then to say that one day something happened to me, and i realised there was 'something'
out there worth pursueing, and i was a different person from then on.
also it kinda hints at that one symbol, i cant remember the name
of it, but it has a tree with a bird on top and a snake at the roots.
the star on top is venus, wich at winter solstice 2012 (the completion of a full preccional cycle) will be at one of the
pincers of scorpio.
venus offcourse is the lightbringer and the morningstar.
(you know who)
also it kinda hints at sirius, that other morningstar.
(that other you know who)
also i drew it kinda like a compass rose to hint at the paris meridian aka 'rose line'.
in the olden days people had a system were gemini symbolised
the pillars the universe rested on, and the rose line ran trough
the middle of it.
also compass -> compassus = by increment.
anyways in mythological terms one would be bitten, concour the ego and ascend towards the light trough wich we die and are reborn.
the path walked is internal and at the same time synonimous with the universe.
i take that 'as above so below' thing fairly seriously and i feel
that to understand the self is to understand the universe.
i have to confess, i took the cross and star on the pillars bases
from an image of Bota.
though im pretty confident that they simply accentuate
the duality allready expressed by the pillars.
