It won't be long before scientists will discover "the God particle" (or not), otherwise known as the Higgs Particle. The name, God Particle, was used tongue in cheek, but the implications are predicted to turn particle physics upside down. Some observers warn that the experiment may produce black holes large enough to suck in the earth itself, but the scientists running the show aren't too worried. Conclusions drawn from the existence of the God particle will have repercussions on our understanding of the hidden mysteries of science and nature.

Maybe they should might join the Royal Arch for more clues.. triple taus?
It has been said that the W (weak nuclear force) is one of the 4 tassels.
I am thinking of the Deacons here, or Guardian Angels, or Guides or whatever else the other mystery traditions call them.

Better to relate the 4 tassels to the 4 rivers of eden
But that is still an illustration by symbols and needs to be unveiled at a galactic level
The mayan calendar appears to have galactic connections

The mayan calendar appears to have galactic connections Perhaps suggesting it appears to have been based on astronomical observations might be more apt.

Ah, but they couldn't have possibly have come up with it through observation and mathematics, it had to have been aliens who gave it to them! You know we humans are incapable of figuring these thing out for ourselves!

>they couldn't have possibly have come up with it through observation and mathematics,
That may depend on how old you consider human civilisation to be
"On four occasions within the 25,800-year cycle our galactic centre aligns with the sunrise of a solstice or equinox. The last time it occurred was on a fall equinox 6,450 years ago, approximately the dawn of Old World civilizations. On Dec 21, 2012, which is a winter solstice (Northern Hemisphere) this center will align with our sun once more. "
the above as part of an account of the Mayan calendar showing the 2012 alignment
It may well be that the human race has been making detailed observations for a long time
I recall reading that ancient egyptians understood the full cycle of lunar tides - taking around 50 000 years to repeat.
That is a long time to sit on the beach according to modern history but if the human race is much older than we are taught then it is possible
Of course it may be of use to consult the traditions of native peoples. They may actually have told us how they came to learn such things

Or, from observed changes on a smaller scale, they may have extrapolated so as to complete the cycle. BTW, Russell did not provide the source of his quote. Even so, I found it here.

You remind me of someone in my class at school. Gosh that was a long time ago now, I wonder whatever happened to him.

It has been said that the W (weak nuclear force) is one of the 4 tassels. What is your source? Were they suggesting this association was in the minds of those who devised the symbols? A paper I read by LM Boath. Can't find it on the Internet. Given that there is no definite meaning for any of the symbols or stories in Freemasonry, what one person says of a symbol is just as valid as what another says. Why do you place such emphasis on who said what? If one does this one makes themselves totally reliant upon others for opinions or discovering new things. Reliance is not a quality of Mastership. We are taught to go to the Centre to learn. It is my sincere belief that every symbol and story within Masonry has many, many meanings. It is like a self repeating formula. What holds true at this level holds true on other levels. Russell, is relating the tassels to the 4 Rivers. Boath is relating the tassels to the 4 forces which hold matter as matter. Matter is a duality and can be represented by the mosaic pavement. imagine.gsfc.nasa.gov/docs/ask_astro/answers/980127c.htmlOthers relate the tassels to the governing regents of the 4 Elements. ALL can be correct in their interpretation. What is your personal interpretation? Maat

Why do you place such emphasis on who said what? To provide context when assessing a statement. In this case, it is obvious that the Weak Nuclear Force was not even envisaged when the intention of the symbolism was devised (presumably after floor cloths or carpets superseded charcoal or chalk drawings in the eighteenth century). So, on the one hand, it would be putting the cart before the horse to say the force is one of the four tassels. On the other hand, one might draw a secondary analogy and compare the various forces with some preexisting symbolism, such as the tassels, just as Bro. Russell keeps associating the Planes with 'Jacob's Ladder.' However, as in that case, one might want to see how such an association is helpful. By providing the source, the reader may be able to look further in determining if there is any helpful purpose in the drawing of a secondary analogy. Besides which, it is simply good, honest form to acknowledge one's sources.

What if they said they did not do it on their own?
As far as I am aware all native peoples claim to have been taught agriculture, science, laws, writing, metal working, .....

So, on the one hand, it would be putting the cart before the horse to say the force is one of the four tassels. Fair enough. My point was that there are underlying formula for everything that happens here on Earth. Scientists recognise this and that is why so many have spent so much time trying to find the master formula. The unified field theory. Four relates to earthly matters according to esoteric traditions, and Freemasonry. Aprons are composed of Triangle and Square, the further we progress in the Craft, the less of the Square we see and the more the Triangle dominates. Sacred Geometry demonstrates evolution thru numbers/geometry. So I think that the symbols of Masonry can be very helpful to scientists in all areas of life. Freemasonry holds one of the plans for the works. Have fun with this site. earthsoulscience.com/Sacred%20Geometry.htmMaat
