Well, following the logic and intention of the stretch of ritual Bill cites, we are to relieve the necessities and soothe the afflictions of our poor bemused Brn:.

Hmmmmm. Well, hmmmmm. I think the only thing we can do about all that bemusement is go get a few pints in the pub beneath Bro. Ma'at's table. We haven't taken Bro. Architek there yet anyway and it's probably about time we did.

You are right, it's not *always* the answer. Unless the question is: "What would you like to drink now?" Now that said . . . you know very well you don't *have* to drink alcoholic beverages in the pub under Bro. Ma'at's table. The only thing that's ever been said about the drinks there is that your favorite drink is *always* on tap. That's true, even if your favorite drink is ginger ale. Now, we haven't, yet, asked Bro. Architek what his fave drink is but we're thinking it's not ginger ale.

Good point, or should that be pint Delighted to see that as someone who does not drink any alcohol I wouldn't be excluded from under Bro, Maat's table

You've never been? Oh my Bro. Leo, it's not the drinks served there, it's the good cheer. Truly, you don't actually need alcohol for that but some like that served up with their good time. And that's an important thing about the pub under Ma'at's table: if it can be served on a tray and you want it, you can get it there. Oh, and that's something else about Bro. Ma'at's table. You can drink as much alcohol as you like there but you'll never get too drunk to enjoy yourself with your brothers there, your head will remain clear enough to enjoy a good conversation there and you'll never suffer a hangover after a night there. So, yeah, come on down. Bro. Arch still hasn't fessed up to what his fave drink is but some of the Ladies think they know how to find out.

What do you think would subsequently happen if you now applied to re-join? There was never any suggestion of expelling me and there were indeed a number of years between my having been asked to consider resigning and my doing so. Thus, I am not aware of any impediment to me rejoining (the Secretary of my mother lodge has recently asked if I would consider doing so—it is not out of the question). What relevance do you place on my masonic standing in relation to my stated opinions? No Longer Unattached During the six years since I resigned, I have remained active as an unattached Freemason and have followed developments here and abroad with great interest. In communication with the UGL of NSW & ACT, I am told the official position of the Grand Lodge has not changed with respect to gender. Even so, I have reasons to believe there has been a change in attitude on the issue and with that guerdon I am content. Accordingly, I have sought to rejoin the Order (sadly my mother lodge handed in its Charter in June) and last month I was duly balloted for and accepted as a member by Lodge Lake Macquarie, No. 243 (I had consulted Grand Lodge prior to my application and the Lodge consulted them prior to scheduling the ballot). I thank the Brethren of the lodge for their welcome and look forward to working with them, one and all.

Heartiest of congratulations Tamrin! Despite our differences of opinion on occasion, I have ever been indebted to you for suggesting the key to understanding the manner of advancing to the East in the 3rd... I have learned lots/truckloads since then using that one key. Even come up with an idea of why the south and the north might now 'look' at each other.. Congrats again. Maat
