Hi New here. I would like to know if anyone can help me regarding joining either a co-mason or women's mason lodge. I tried joining the Eastern Star at a lodge which is only 4 blocks away from my home, but you have to have a relative or husband in Freemasons to get in (so close but yet so far away ). Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks, Lyn

Greetings to you. I think my Obedience has a Lodge about 100 miles from you, though there may be one closer. My Obedience is the Honorable Order of American Co-Masonry, American Federation of Human Rights and we're US-Based. We have lodges all over the country. Our headquarters is in Larkspur, CO. There's a link in my siggy. You mention Order of Eastern Star in the same breath as Co-Masonry. I'm sure it's already been pointed out to you that the OES is not Freemasonry. It is a worthy path for many but there is no comparison between it and Co-Masonry. So if you are looking for something "like" the Order of Eastern Star, you may be disappointed in Co-Masonry. If you really are interested in OES, you might appeal to the California office. When I was seeking Freemasonry, I received several invitations (kind-hearted attempts to knock me off my path) to join OES. At that point, I knew of no blood relatives who were Freemasons. I was told arrangements could be made. So it seems to me if they were willing to make arrangements for me, they would for you. Good luck to you, where ever your path lead

Hello Lyn,
We have lodges in Ojai and Los Angeles; there may be others.
Feel free to contact me by PM and I'll be delighted to do the necessary to introduce you.
Kind regards,

"Co-Masonry" is clandestine, be watchful of that.

On this forum, as on many others, many orders interchange and exchange opinions.
All should be respected equally.

@d2fresh: with all due respect, Co-Masonry is considered clandestine only by mainstream male craft Masonry. i'm assuming Lyn is a woman, correct me if i'm wrong. so for her, and anyone else not a part of male Masonry, it's not clandestine at all. for women, it is all that is available. i think your warning of "be watchful" is discouraging without reason. she has no prior obligation to consider. and from everyone i've spoken to involved with the orders mentioned above, i've been nothing but impressed with them.
good luck on your quest, Lyn and welcome.
