I think that if I where busy creating a universe (the universe is expanding, we know this) the last thing I would have time for would be creating something for me to fight with. Seems very counter productive. Love and Light, This is covered in the lessons of the mosaic carpet, or even that of Adam and Eve. Not counter productive, but rather insightful. How can one truly understand and appreciate love and light without also being exposed to hate and darkness? For us to honestly be good, we must have the full free agency to make this decision Spaghetti and meatballs, Isn't this again thinking of God and the divine in human terms? What regards is given to Lillith? I mean after all what we have in Genesis is not the only Garden of Eden account out there? Love and Light,

Love and Light, No, this is thinking of a God knowing his children must learn and find their way home. The references are there, throughout the Masonic ritual. It just takes a while to piece them together

if there is an all powerfull god, why would it need "children" in the first place?
"and thus god dissapeared in a puff of logic"
i would consider it very counter productive to go from all knowing to knowing nothing only to become all knowing again..
LIFE IS THE DUMBEST GAME UNDER THE SUN (and i should know, i played quite a few)

How can we question God's motives and desires. The ending chapters in the book of Job sheds light on questioning the motives of God.

It is ok to Question Job questioned, and Solomon asked for wisdom. God gave us minds to think with and to make choices on our free will. If God is God to you, regardless of who God to you is. How can we as man understand God in his fullness.

I can honestly say that I dont know myself. I believe in God I pray, I do not know my purpose I am Lost. But I humbly say I am seeking. God knows I am seeking!

Great Statement Humbleseeker - I know I am God - every cell in my body contains "God" so I don't have to seek far - Have you thought of asking yourself your purpose - you might be pleasantly surprised.

I will not venture to say that I am God, although I do believe that God resides inside of me. My body as a Temple. Thank you as much living this life I have done in 29 years I have not reay asked my purpose. Most of the time situations ditated my actions and the course of living that I took. For instane getting my girlfriend preg at 18 and I joined the Army to be a good father, then marrying her so she could also be supported by the Army. I knew she wasnt right for me but I just did what I did because of the situation. After 5 years in the Army she left me for another man when I was overseas, I returned a civilian after my enlistment got a divorce and turned to alcohol and drugs for about 2 years. I prayed and prayed for God to send me a good woman but I never knew my purpose I lived in the city and I met the lovley woman in my picture who is from the country where I live now. over the past 2 years I have changed my life for the better started becoming active in Christianity, and now I am a brand new Mason. Well now that I have told my little story, thank you whistler I am going to ask God and myself today for my purpose. oh and my real name is Nate.

I would go along with your thinking, God is in all things. He is within you, he is around you and about you. From a scientific point of view it may help to have a look at the String Theory. It is a disputed theory but it expands the mind.
Try an exercise, get a medium sized mirror and sit in front of it. Stare into your own eyes, think of nothing just keep staring. Best done alone.
One of two things will happen , you will feel something strange, your own mortality, the sudden realisation may frighten but this is normal.
Or you will go mad.
Now, Freemasonry is the perfect instrument to explore yourself. Who , what you are and what you can be. It is not the destination, in my opinion, it is the vehicle to facilitate the study.
'To your own self be true', this you can only do if you know yourself. At 29 I knew everything, I was invincible. It has taken me 30 years to understand what an idiot I was, that I knew very little and if I had understood that I would have learned more, sooner.

If you do that and say "I do not believe in the Bell Witch" three times, she'll come out of the mirror and get you. ;D

Bill "To your own self be true' That is what it is all about - When I am asked to hold a VSL and say words - For me that VSL is not important it could be a Micky Mouse comic - It is my own self that stands behind the words. Nat all those events in your life were not accidents seek to understand why they happened - look at the events, the people around them, the lessons learnt and lessons given - can be very interesting and reassuring HGW

Hi Nate
Enjoyed reading your posts and about your life's journey so far. Thank you for being so open and sharing that with us.
I am firm in my belief (knowledge) of reincarnation. Maybe your 'not so good experiences' were just the result of unfinished business in a previous life. One might also ask the question as to whether your present lovely partner would have found you so attractive had you not been tempered and moulded by the fire or your ordeal. Heat and pressure make for shining bright diamonds.
So many times in my lifetime I have shed tears over that which was lost, only to find that that which later replaced it was much more precious. Should I lose that which is precious now, I know to expect something even more wonderful is coming my way. True.
Mark Masonry is very enlightening in this respect.
Cheers Maat

According to Jewish kabbalists, there are 400 worlds of light above this "level", and there are also inverted worlds of darkness, where beings created by the wisdom of God also reside. Evil is the Throne of Good. Shlomo haMelek may or may not have built the TEMPLE with various demons, and then imprisoned them. Many books were attributed to King Solomon, which were actually written by others. The Testament of Solomon is certainly a very curious work. For the rest of us peons who participate in esoteric studies and rituals, the aim is much more Alchemical in nature. The different perspectives of kabbalah, Gnosticism, Alchemy and Hermeticism illuminate one another and help one to discover various keys to the WORK, as far as one is able to penetrate them.
