Well, for starters, you actually have to be there. What are you talking about? I believe he is talking about actually being in a Lodge hall in the presence of Lodge Brethren, but I could be mistaken. I dont think most of the Brethren I know would classify as "physical" sitting in front of a webcam...of course many of them dont even have computers, let alone webcams...let alone skype. Heck, some of them believe so strongly in the need for being present that they never even took the ritual books when our Grand Lodge made the switch. We have some Brothers in their 90s who have never done anything Masonic which wasnt mouth to ear, and GAOTU love them for it. Talk about polished ashlars.

Well, then what he would have missed the point of this thread. When I asked Brother Steve the benifit of a "physical" degree I was asking in regards to his comment about recieving bumps and bruises. All of our ritual work is done the old fashioned way. In a lodge. You must have missed that portion on our website. Love and Light,

See it gets confusing because I recently read a posting on another forum by a member of your "Grand Orient" that stated that your "ritual work" is held every 13 days outdoors in...I believe she used the word secret, but she may have said private, location.
And just so the terminology is straight and becuase you insist that becuase you call it Freemasonry in is Freemasonry, operative in Freemasonry refers to those who actually do the physical labor or stone working, not those who do alchemical rituals. Its important distinction because certain terms mean certain things in Freemasonry everywhere except when used by the people who pop up and claim to populate your Lodges. The reason this is relevant here is because I believe the thread was discussing how one knows whether a given obedience is legitimate or not.

Seriously, you seem to have a real problem understanding concepts. I would look into that if I where you. You seem to be easily confused. We have an invocation every 13 days as part of the alchemical work of the MEAPRMM/GOE. As I am aware in the USA there are only two groups who do the invocation every 13 days. Operative Freemasonry is different that Operative Stonemasonry. Seriously, get a grip on esoteric terms before you ask questions. This is getting to be redundant. Love and Light,

Boys, Boys, Boys (putting on my Mom hat and stepping out of the mud) how about both going to your separate corners until you can play nice. Though I'll leave it up to the moderators to decide who has the bigger bait or is there anyone else out there taking score? tsk, tsk, tsk
Seriously though, probably 99% (my estimate only, no facts or figures to back it up) of Masons generally define Operative to mean any stone or brick mason who literally works the craft hands on. And the same generally agree that Speculative is the finer art of our lodge work. If I might suggest, anytime Operative is used in a different pretext it may need further explanation, as redundant as that may be. Can we have a democratic vote please?
